So, I've seen a fair amount of speculation that Dex is going to be the focus of Year 5, but I feel like Whiskey might actually be a better option for it.

The way I see it, Dex has already had a pretty satisfying (if largely background) character arc. He starts out with that Samwell Republicans sticker on his laptop (how that/those views effected how he jived with the team goes largely unremarked, but still) to the accepting, baking guy we see at the end. Already pretty satisfying, I don't think there's anywhere to go beyond explicitly making nurseydex canon without introducing a whole lot of new things that would spin it out for a few more years. (I wouldn't complain, but still)

Whiskey, though, is kind of not touched on much, really just enough for us to see that he's very much a parallel to Jack. He hasn't had much of a character arc, so we've got plenty to do with him, and I think really focusing on and expanding on those parallels to Jack would be a really cool way to go on and focus on really passing the torch of the first four years on, more than Dex picking up baking would.

I cannot wait for nurseydex in year 5, but if any of the following are sprinkled in even a little bit I will simply combust:

Sunshine goalie swearing in frustration

SMH going to a Falcs game

Any Kent Parson update (trade rumors? sassy at a presser? an interaction with Whiskey???????)

SMH going to Ford's shows (frogs staring at Lardo's art but with interpretive dance?? yes plz)

A lax bro intentionally invited to the Haus

Chowder "mentoring" the younger backup goalie who's outperforming him

Whiskey learning that to be known is to be loved
