You're asking for writing tips...from me? I'll try to point out some things okay, here we go.
So, first of, write a story you want to write whenever you want to. Pushing yourself by giving yourself a deadline will most likely fuck up with your creativity and your will to sit down and write. And it won't be as good as it would be if you took your time.
Do not be afraid to create new wips, even if you haven't finished all of your other ones. Some of those may stay unfinished forever and that's okay. Work on whatever your heart tells you to, whatever sparks inspiration.
Use paragraphs to give emphasis to certain scenes. Remember that a paragraph can be just one sentence long if you want it to be. You can fluctuate between relatively long paragraphs to short ones and that's a tool that you can use to engage with the readers' interest and attention. Same goes for punctuation too! Very useful tools.
Also, don't be afraid to repeat the same word in one paragraph, do it. Besides, repetition sometimes works on the writer's favour; you just gotta learn how to use it this way.
You don't need fancy words to make your work a good one. The way it flows really matters, description and dialogue.
Use the character's name if the narrator (pov by another character) knows said character. (eg. not Tails knew the hedgehog would save him but,Tails knew Sonic/he would save him) The character knows the other one, so it wouldn't make sense to call him by "hedgehog", even inside his mind.
There are also quite a few writing tips on the whole internet and I'm sure better writers than me would have a lot more to say. These are things I learned basically this past year and I've been trying to use myself. I also like to say that practice makes better.
Do not overexert yourself though. Writing works like a muscle. You pull and you stretch it to train it. Stretch (relax) it for yoo long, and you won't be able to pull easily. Pull (work) for too long and you'll get tired and possibly in pain. There needs to be a balance between the two to reach your goal. terrible analogy but my point is that everything needs time, practice needs time.
a friend of mine once said it's logical to be better the older you are; you've practiced for a much longer time than younger people than you. it's not that you have to be talented per se, you just practiced enough to get this good. (paraphrasing) So, I don't think I'm like, the best writer out there, not by a long shot. But I have practiced in one way or another and that's what counts in the long run:)
