Bricelets, also known as Petits Gateaux Suisses, are thin, crispy waffle-like cookies that originate from Switzerland. They are delightful treats that can be enjoyed on their own or with various toppings. This recipe will guide you through making these delicate and delicious Bricelets at home.
Ingredients: 1 cup all-purpose flour. 1/4 cup granulated sugar. 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted. 2 large eggs. 1/2 cup whole milk. 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract. A pinch of salt.
Instructions: In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, and a pinch of salt. In another bowl, whisk together the eggs, melted butter, milk, and vanilla extract. Gradually pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients, whisking constantly until you have a smooth batter. Preheat your Bricelets iron or a waffle iron to medium-high heat and lightly grease it with cooking spray or butter. Pour a small amount of the batter onto the center of the iron, close it, and cook for about 2-3 minutes until the Bricelet is golden brown and crispy. Carefully remove the Bricelet from the iron using a spatula and shape it into a cylinder or cone while it's still warm. Repeat the process with the remaining batter, greasing the iron as needed. Allow the Bricelets to cool and crisp up further before serving. Enjoy these Swiss delights with your favorite toppings like chocolate, whipped cream, or fresh berries.
