Endless list of games I love: Star Wars: Fallen Order (2019)

I love few little details about Vader in current canon as much as this scene. I love how he puts pretty much zero effort into that punch, and literally yeets Cere through the air. My only regret is Star Wars being childfriendly for the mere reason that I would love to see Vader get to be more vicious and brutal. 

Yes, we see him murder, yes we see him be terrifying. But a blow like this backhand with his robotic hand would at best snap Cere’s jaw in two, at worst separate it entirely from her face. Gore may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but for tiny slivers like this it would have been a literal gut punch. I love the fact that Cere, and Cal, lived but I’d also love to see Vader physically bulldozing his enemies without using the Force or his lightsaber. 

Force choking is a rather sanitary murder tactic, and the lightsaber cauterizes every wound giving us very little blood and viscera. I want to see Vader delivering crippling blows, kicks and the likes. I want to see the broken, maimed bodies a physical sparr with him would leave behind. The closest we get to a brutal, intense dispatch is the poor Rebel in Rogue one being basically cut in half. Give us more gore, more violence, more death. 

There’s a reason I started writing the Mask of Death series, with the intent of giving Vader a violent and frightening edge canon never could seeing as to we are limited by the PG rating issued. Still, I’d love to see an x-rated Vader film, even a short, where he gets to be truly horrific. Where he gets to be the menace he deserves to be.

Greez Dritus, Star Wars: Fallen Order

Okay, which one of the writers made the comic-relief alien have a much deeper layer to himself fighting his depression and self-loathing while recovering from an addiction? And can I just say kudos to the casting director? Daniel Roebuck really nails that line between comedy and layered drama that Greez has to him.
