The moment the door to her office opened, the princess had stopped writing and set her pen down. She never turned anyone away — especially not Alastor.
“Yeah — what’s up?”
Charlie sat herself up from her previously slumped position, face lighting up. Not that she minded doing paperwork, but it got boring after doing it for more than an hour or two, so the distraction was gladly appreciated. As quickly as she had responded she noticed the shift in his expression.
“Oh, um —”
She had never seen Alastor cry. Quite frankly, she didn’t think he did at all. The heiress stood up and walked around her desk, reaching a hand out before pulling it back. She didn’t think that it would be well received in his state of tears.
“Do you... want to close the door and talk?” She offered in a quiet voice.
