A little walk from France to cross the Swiss border - a bridge over troubled waters 75 years ago where some local farmers helped smuggle people across the border to freedom in Switzerland. The ending was not so good, but it is commemorated in a memorial in a paddock just near the border. Appropriate that the poppies were waving in the breeze in a Swiss wheat field, with Lake Geneva in the background. Rose is sitting on the border bridge, France on the left and Switzerland on the right. We took Tim and Jenny’s dog, Acorn, for the walk, with the Geneva Polo Club in the background behind the signpost. Acorn fell asleep on the kitchen floor after the walk!
