The Full Sibling Experience

Here's who I write for
Hyun-ju didn't really talk about her biological family after they cut contact, she claimed she'd gotten over it but it still stings. Her therapist had said she'd shown signs of improvement after her regular visits with Geum-ja and Yong-sik. She'd mentioned how good it felt to be a sister without the history. The protectiveness, the lighthearted teasing about her and Gyeong-seok, the ridiculous debates. One thing she had noticed fairly quickly was that Yong-sik didn't really know what he was doing. He was very clearly an only child, not used to sharing his mom, having a sibling. He occasionally apologized for doing a bad job but Hyun-ju always reassured him that she thought he was doing great.
"I just kinda feel like I'm doing something wrong, like something's missing. What am I not doing Hyun-ju?" She raised her eyebrows at him, the two were at her shared home with Gyeong-seok, he had taken Na-yeon out for ice cream. They were on their king sized bed, her leaning against the headboard and him hanging off the bed a bit.
"You seem to be doing everything right to me, I mean, I've never been a sister before and I only had brothers. You'd have to ask Dae-ho I guess." She shrugged, watching his face slowly turn pink from being upside-down. She hadn't referred to him as Oppa yet, not sure how he'd feel about it.
"Will you come back up here? You look like your head is about to pop." Yong-sik's glasses had slipped up to his forehead since he refused to take them off before he leaned backwards off the bed. He let a low groan rumble in his throat, not moving. Hyun-ju sighed, leaning forward to poke his stretched out torso a few times.
"Come. Back. Up. Here." Yong-sik yelped, legs kicking out, causing him to slide, making him instinctively shoot his hands out in a handstand of sorts to keep him from falling on his head.
"Hyuhuhun-ju! Hehehelp!" He cried through giggles, both lingering and at the ridiculousness of the situation. Hyun-ju attempts to stifle her giggles before grabbing his shirt and shoulders to pull him up.
"That was rude." He pouted at her, glasses falling back onto his nose.
"Well that wouldn't have happened if you had listened to me in the first place." She retorted with a head tilt and eyebrow jump. He narrowed his eyes at her, giving her an exaggerated up and down.
"Who made you the boss?" He said, purposefully making himself sound weird.
"The military, I was a sergeant incase you forgot." She says confidently, sitting up straighter. Gi-hun, Gyeong-seok, Dae-ho, and Jun-hee all helped her see that she should be proud of that and that it didn't make her less of a woman.
"Oh yes, my sincerest apologies Sarge, my mistake." He says, rolling his eyes before shooting his hands out to grab her sides.
"AAAHH! Whahahat the hehehehell!" Yong-sik didn't say anything, just shrugged and narrowly avoided her kick. Hyun-ju eventually reached back out to latch her hands onto his ribs, earning a pretty unmanly squeal and a quick retreat before tried to get her to relent. The two grappled on the bed in a flurry of gasps and giggles.
"Yohohou're gohohohoing eheheasy ohohon mehehehe!" Yong-sik knew full well that Hyun-ju could easily overpower him if she wanted to.
"Sohohohoho?" She wasn't about to admit that the was having fun at the playful encounter, but as soon as he pinched her hip she yelled, quickly grabbing his wrist pulling him to a pin flat on his stomach on the bed with his hands pinned to his lower back.
"Yohohou... wanna complain about me going easy on you now~?" She said as she clawed her hand up and down his left side, ribs, and a bit of his underarm.
"NOHOHOHOHOHO NONONONO NOHOHO! HYUHUHUHUN-JU! THIHIHIS IHIHISN'T FAHAHAHAIR!"
"Oh now its not fair~? Make up your mind Oppa~ Which one is it~?"
"FUHUHUHUCK I'M SOHOHOHORRY! PLEHEHEHEASE!"
"Oh fine." Hyun-ju let him go, rolling him onto his back so he could breathe easier. He slowly caught his breath, looking at Hyun-ju who was fixing her hair and clothes in her phone camera, pressing into her flushed cheeks.
"You.. called me Oppa just now." He saw Hyun-ju freeze, like she just now realized she had done that. Her mouth dropped open but Yong-sik cut her off before she could speak.
"Don't you dare apologize for that Hyun-ju-na! I'm honestly surprised it took so long, you called her Eomma way earlier. I was a little jealous honestly"
"I wasn't sure how you'd feel about it... maybe you'd prefer I'd refer to you as Hyung but I wasn't sure..."
"Why would you use Hyung Hyun-ju? You're a woman." He watched Hyun-ju process what he had said, tears pooling in her eyes. He quickly scooched back to wrap her in a big hug.
"I don't want to hear you say you're doing something wrong with being my sibling ever again."
