Finally completed my final 4 Sword Brethren, and I can call the squad complete. 5 metal firstborn, 5 of the new plastic kit, to form the elite vanguard of the Adanac Reach Crusade.

Sword Brethren by Kim Chan
Primaris Sword Brethren! These dudes were good fun to paint, though getting around the tabards and capes was tricky.
Thought of the Day: Our enemies are mortal no longer. Face them squarely and without flinching from duty. Mercy for such as them is self-deception
Finished it. Or finished it as much as I wanted to finish it. Either one works, and either one is true. And I am hungry and need food.
Got the Primaris Crusader Squad built, lots of cool and characterful options and models in this kit, so I had a great time putting them together. If I had one complaint its that the whole squad is built off a duplicate of the same sprue, so you don’t get as much in the way of pose variety on the bodies and legs. But honestly the lovely tabards may be worth it.
The Initiates came together without any fuss and I’m quite pleased with how my small modifications from my bits box added that little bit of extra character to the unit. I’ll still likely do a second pass before I paint to throw on some extra purity seals, heraldry and reliquaries but overall I’m quite pleased.
The Neophytes and Sword Brother by comparison are pretty much straight out of the box. The main change being that I can’t tolerate bare heads so I raided my bits box for some alternate options for the Neophytes, settling on some Tempestus Scion Heads leftover from making a Stormtrooper Retinue for my Inquisitor. I think the end result looks pretty good, since the Scion heads have that touch of knightly aesthetic to them that helps them fit in with the rest of the Templars.
