Hi! I am really into romulans and their lore and stuff and recently discovered you are responsible for a lot of it (thanks!). What is your personal favorite bit of romulan lore/worldbuilding?

Hi there!

I really wish there was a simple answer to that, or a single thing I could point to. ...I think the most straightforward answer is:

What I really love is that they let me do it. That they just said, "Go on, we trust you. Knock yourself out." And after I did... they published it. It gets no better than that. 🙂

Arrhae stood there, breathing hard, and staring at him…and thinking, Did I see him wink at me? Did he actually wink?? Rihannsu had that gesture in common with Terrans, but Arrhae wasn’t entirely sure that he hadn’t simply had something in his eye.”

K’s’t’lk affectionately hassling Jim about his reputation is my favourite thing.

Spock, Scotty, and K’s’t’lk all agree that the odds of something happening are “vanishingly small” and Jim’s immediate reaction is to find all that agreement absolutely terrifying, which is hilarious.

The sword was the ultimate symbol of Romulan power, tradition, and pride. It lay in the Senate Chamber of the Romulan Star Empire, revered and untouched for centuries, until the day Dr. Leonard McCoy was tried for treason – and both were stolen during an attack on Romulus itself.
