AND ANOTHER THING!!! They would be so genuinely kind to each other! Vine Staff had to live alone for so long, and she STILL struggles with making connections. Sword meanwhile would never hesitate to be there for her, would never hesitate to help out or show her love.

As for Sword, he'd finally have someone to hold onto him as tightly as he holds onto others. Rocket's a close friend, sure, but Vine Staff wouldn't take nearly as much time to become Sword's Ride-Or-Die. And I personally headcanon Vine Staff as touch starved, and Sword as really physically affectionate

Also I can totally imagine both of them thinking "The strong must protect the sweet" about each other.

I think I saw one image someone drew of like polyground or something with all three of them thinking they’re the Chad and the other two are the kittens or however you call that stuff idk. Reminds me of that kinda that last paragraph
