That's right! Right at dawn on September 23, we rise up one more time to celebrate not just the start of our third MetaDede Week, but also five years since Kirby Fighters 2's release.

Wait. FIVE YEARS??? That's right! Today it makes half a decade from whats the heart and soul of our dearest pair of dorks, and still living! Have you seen that five stars figurine from [Kirby and the Forgotten Land + Star Crossed World Nintento Switch 2 edition]? You did.

As a way to celebrate, we'll make stuff a little different this year. But lets not think about that right now! Before we jump into competitions and divided moon paths, let's celebrate this first day together!

Listen, I love when people theorise that the reason Meta Knight stopped exploring Winter Horns is because he met Dedede and lost/was not ready mentally to fight him ( either because he feared hurting him or because he could'nt stand seeing him like that ). I really love it.

However sometimes I like to imagine if it was'nt the case.

Imagine if he explored the New World, reaching for Winter Horns, only to turn back as he was starting to feel cold, as he worried about what would happen to Waddle Dee Town.

So there he stands guard, fighting off Gorimondo and watching over the town. He keeps thinking about his missing friends, the Meta Knights, and his sworn partner, Dedede.

Then at some point, Kirby comes back from exploring the place he failed to go through, looking grim, lacking his new friend.

When Meta Knight tries to talk to him, and gets explained what happened, he discovers that Dedede was there.

He was right there. He could' have seen him if he stayed here longer, maybe even saved him, and now, he'd disapeared again, with Kirby's new friend.

I can already imagine an AU where he goes to the final bosses himself, to free Dedede. Basically him beating the fucking ultimate lifeform just to save his ( totally platoniquelly ) sworn partner.
