Scots Word of the Day: Stramash
Meaning a loud, riotous, tumultuous happening.
Can be used to mean a particularly raucous get-together but is more often used to describe a fight, argument, or otherwise hectic situation.
Like many scots words it has made its way to northern England over time and is often used to describe football clashes or altercations.
Fun fact - there’s a pub in Edinburgh called Stramash! that often holds ceilidh’s
