also because there was someone making a stink OOCly a couple of weeks ago re: timelines and how could you have a Chiss raised in the Empire? They haven’t been allies that long!

Of course, I start having mild panic because OMG what if my concept doesn’t fit?  However, a few minutes of research leads me to the following conclusion regarding the assertion that was made to me OOCly: DING DONG YOU’RE WRONG:

“During the late days of the Empire’s exile, the Sith came into contact with the Chiss” (x)

So, per Wookieepedia:  The “present day” is 3640 BBY, the Sacking of Coruscant happened in 3653 BBY and that was the culmination of a war that began in 3681 BBY (the point at which, I assume, the Empire came out of exile), and if the Chiss were talking to the Empire at that time -- That’s a span of just under 40 years and my Chiss is 30.

The math adds up, is all I’m saying.  Timelines are, of course, fluid and sort of a pain in the ass - especially in Star Wars - but the concept of a Chiss raised up in the Empire is not chronologically impossible.  It’s certainly rare, but not impossible.
