CAMILO: Camilo had been called to the headmaster’s office.
Okay, no. That was not exactly what had happened, but it was certainly what it felt like to be told that Bill of MAFIA Founder Fame™️wanted to talk to him. What could he possibly have to say to Camilo? Camilo--who was a no one, really. They tried their best to fly under the radar, especially these days, when it felt like MAFIA was whipping itself into a frenzy of self-congratulation.
Maybe Bill had heard that Camilo had expressed doubts.
Had Karen told him?
Camilo felt themself breaking into a cold fucking sweat heading into one of the cozy office spaces inside MAFIA Manor. They didn’t know if it was Bill’s office, or just one of the many in the large townhouse. Bill was mysterious that way. No one really seemed to know much about him. Not that Camilo had really asked much. At first, he’d seemed so cool with his dope ass chocolate shop, that Camilo hadn’t seen the need to. And now, he was too scared to pry.
But, here he was, entering with an easy, loose gait. It paused as he saw Banzai already sitting in one of the chairs. What was he doing here?
“Heyyyyyy,” Camilo drawled.
“Ah, Cami. Please, take a seat.” Bill smiled at them and gestured to the chair next to Banzai, then replaced his elbow onto the desk. “Thank you for joining us. I have an exciting proposition for you both.”
