What: Campaign meet and greet with Isaac Morey in the park to ask questions and discuss his plans if elected.

Apple cider tasting from local farms will be available to everyone, as well other refreshments like hot chocolate and fall-themed pastries and snacks will also be provided.

Candle making will also be set up during the event, materials provided and instruction provided by Devyn Morey and other volunteers at the event.

Speech:

I want to start by thanking everyone for being here today; I know I've stressed often how important our community is to me but I'm glad to see how important it is to so many of you as well.

I don't think it can be stressed enough how unique our town is, and how unique the people within it are as well; I do believe that's one of our greatest strengths, but it isn't the only one. So much of our town was built on the insight and experiences brought here by the people who have come to call Swynlake home.

I know there are a lot of promises people make when it comes to politics and I don't want to be the person that makes promises I can't reach. Sometimes reaching is harder; the hurdles it takes to find the midpoint where safety in our home feels like safety to everyone are complex, balancing the needs of our businesses with not losing our identity to tourism isn't easy, and there are dozens of other issues that need to be addressed that don't have simple answers.

They don't have to be impossible answers either though, and I do think those answers can be found here; as hard as it is to see every side to a problem that's why I'm here, what I want to do. Some concerns that have been voiced in the past have been long-term problems; nothing is going to change unless we put the effort into changing it. And I can only do that when I know what the problems are, when I know the things people need heard.

The seasons are changing and I feel like our town has changed as well the past year, for both better and worse, and there are more changes we have to embrace ahead.

There is something invaluable in every voice, something illuminating that shouldn't be taken for granted. And that's why I wanted this afternoon for people together, to talk, to answer your questions and ask some of my own, and hopefully remind each of you just how important that unique light is.

Oswald's Speech

Hello everyone and thank you so much for coming out here tonight. Your support means the world to me—though, if you just came here for the free drinks, I can’t really fault you there. I still appreciate you coming out and supporting not only me, but this wonderful new business here in Swynlake.

I should start by addressing the elephant in the room. Yes, I did attempt to open a business here, and I know there are rumors about what I did in order to obtain the board’s approval of my petition and I would just like to put all the speculation to rest. In my desperation, yes, I did seek advice from someone I thought to be a well respected member of the community, and in my time of need I was used and manipulated by a price magic sorcerer in order to further fuel his own plots against this town. Thankfully, he is no longer in town, and it was when the board realized the magic that had been cast on them was when I too realized I was used as a pawn in a malicious and devious scheme. 

Why was I in a state of desperation, you may ask? Because for as much as this town boasts its focus on small business and locally owned establishments, the processes and abilities to get those businesses open is one that I strongly feel could be massively improved upon. It worries me how set in its ways this town is when it comes to new ideas and expansions being brought about, especially by ‘outsiders’ such as myself. From my time in Swynlake, for as short as it may have been so far, I have come to love this town and the people in it. I want nothing but the best for this place. 

A core belief I have in business and one I carry into this campaign is putting the town first when it comes to its people and businesses and infrastructure. In order for this town to thrive, we need the economy that comes from tourism just as much from our locals. But I don’t want this town to become a tourist hotspot, I’m not suggesting we open the door for resorts or anything of the sort, no. I believe there is so much natural and existing wonder to this town that visitors should be excited to learn about. I want to embrace those visitors as much as I want to protect the town from the damages high tourism can cause, so with improving the way businesses in Swynlake are handled by the local government as well as implementing new and improved ways for tourists to experience Swynlake I know we can create a town that is not only functional, but one that is thriving.

I don’t want you all to think that my only focus is on the businesses and tourists in this town, though. I know this town has a history of disasters and I know first hand how devastating those can be not just to a town physically, but to everyone's emotional and mental state. As I said, this town and its inhabitants are of the utmost importance to me, and I want nothing more than for everyone to feel as though they can live a safe and happy life here. Mental health awareness is a subject that is very near and dear to my heart. This town has a lot of safeguards in place for after disasters and support groups for Magicks, and I think that is wonderful. I also think it could be expanded on. Support should be available to everyone, Mundus and Magick alike, anonymously or otherwise, at any and all time. Implementing more of these programs and places into this town will do nothing but make Swynlake even better and will make our community even more connected than it already is. Every person in this town matters, and I want everyone to feel that sense of safety and community here.

When it comes to Swynlake, it’s all or nothing, and I am all in. Thank you again, enjoy your night!

OOC Information: Magica is hosting a mystically magick pop-up shop! A makeshift Magickal Items Market! Nothing dangerous, of course, but cute little party tricks. Magic light poppers, color-changing cupcakes (allow 24 hours for magick to fade), reagents galore, and informational placards on different magickal properties.

There will also be some cute raffles! First Raffle entry is free, but you can pay another quid for any additional you want to throw in.

Two winners for each prize:

Personalized long-lasting light displays – think of enchanted, ever-glowing holiday lights for your house or apartment

A cute little birthstone focus collection (The diamond is lab-grown half-carat, sorry!)

A color-changing two-tier cake with animated stars painted on the fondant

Weather Reagent Starter Set: Sunshine in a tin, Moonlight in a capped thimble, Rainwater in a mason jar, etc
