Zarina's favorite time of the week was when whosits and whatsits had new stock. She had made a deal with a clerk awhile ago that if there was a good tip she would supply cupcakes and they had come through majorly this week.
Handblown glass perfume bottles and a set at that!
Zarina was almost vibrating at the excitment. "Do you want to smell this? I think there are hints of lavender? I'm hoping this other one might still have some citrus notes."

Dodger slumped down against the back wall of the bakery as if the day had personally offended him. He set his bag beside him with a tired thump. He reached into his coat pocket, pulling out a lighter, only to stop, squinting at the flame like he was trying to remember why he'd even bothered in the first place. "You ever have one of those days?" He asked, to nobody in particular, grateful to be heard by anybody who was willing to hear.
"Where the only thing that went right was not trappin' yourself in the walk-in freezer?" He snapped the slighter closed, leaning his head back against the wall. Then, after a quick beat, he cracked one eye open and looked over at the person who'd stopped.
"Tell you what," he said, leaning forward slightly. "If you've got spare time, and a tolerance for cheap beer, I know a place what don't ask too many questions. You look like you could use it too. What do you say?"

Majdala didn't mind the late shift at Chippamunka's but it could get lonely when there was a lull. So lonely, in fact, that when shes done checking in with the few tables she does have, she's during her side work automatically.
While bustling a table, tray in hand, Majdala hums to herself, snippets of lyrics making their way past her lips.
Shes singing and cleaning and, then, as she turns, accidentally swings her tray into someone she hadn't seen, catching them in the side.
"Oh! 'M so sorry, darlin'. You alright?"
