okay so i remember hanna from, like, years ago!!! i do i do!!! before all these superhero ocs came about she was doing demigods!!! she’s always been great at creating loveable children and honestly??? jake is too connected to her babies to ever let go.
and hanna is such a sweet pea too! she’s so friendly and funny and honestly she’s an amazing artist and makes me hate being a poor uni student because i would give her so much to see more of her lovely art and wonderful characters. she’s so talented and sweet and i’m so glad we started threading together all those years ago (about 4??? i think???) and still thread together now. whilst most people are great at giving me more development for canon, hanna has allowed me to create a whole world for my powers au and is the main reason why i’m so in love with it rn. i love her and she deserves all the love.

Coffee Shop Meetings || George & Rie

George rarely found himself in coffee shops. After all, he was hyper and energetic enough without the addition of any sort of caffeine to his system – coffee would just push him over the edge. (He’d had an espresso once, and hadn’t slept for the next 24 hours. No joke.)
But, for some reason, he was now stood at the counter in a coffee shop, eyeing up the sweet treats as he ordered a latte for himself – nice and milky, and decaf as well, to stop him from getting too hyper. After all, it was his day off, so he didn’t need anything that would keep him up for hours when he had no way to expend that energy.
He didn’t notice anyone sidle up beside him (probably to order coffee and a baked treat themselves) until he looked up and physically spotted someone stood beside him. He jumped a little, definitely not expecting anyone to be there.
“Uh… hi?”

Being part of a team is hard. After all, a group of individuals where there are multiple personalities that are likely to clash with each other, where communication is required to keep everyone in the loop and all members of the team happy? That was bound to be hard. Near impossible, actually, if the personalities clashed too much.
When you threw the facts that the team members had powers and were emotionally volatile teenagers into the mix, it made being part of a team infinitely harder.
And the only way to make it easier? Apparently have two completely separate teams work together and train with each other so that they not only got used to their own powers, but the powers of those around them and learned how to use them in the best way possible.
Brilliant, right?
That wasn’t what Alex thought as he walked out of his first training session of the day, hands shaking and his head literally all over the place.
He didn’t know how, or why, but his little band of heroes (who were really Allie’s little band of heroes, but no one would say that because apparently Jake’s ego was too delicate to hear that sort of thing) had been recruited by some of the world’s most experienced heroes to train alongside another group of heroes in training – a bunch of kids who were actually getting the mentoring to be able to use their powers to the best of their ability. At first he thought it was cool. After all, there were so many people with so many different powers… so many people to watch Jake impersonate and so many opportunities to pull pranks where different reactions could be observed and stored for blackmail at later dates. There was just so much to learn and, in all honesty? Alex loved meeting new people.
That was until everyone was grouped up according to their powers.
Jodie, of course, was grouped up with this girl called Audrey – plant powers working together to improve each other, and even Alex could see that Jodie had a load of untapped potential. Aleshia was grouped up with a girl called Aiko and this other guy, Xavier, and they all gave off this creepy dark energy that Alex knew would work for them, if his previous working with Aleshia was anything to go off. Jake was grouped up with a girl called Lucy, her brother Link, and the cyborg guy Riven – he didn’t quite see the link (pun unintended) between the four of them, but he supposed that however they worked together would be good considered Jake could switch it up at any second. Obed got stuck with the earthquake kid and the sound waves girl, so Alex knew he didn’t want to be in close vicinity whenever they were training. And Allie? Well, she was in what had been termed the “destruction squad”, and he wasn’t sure he wanted to know how they were training.
In fact, all of those other teams looked pretty good in terms of how they were set up. No real problems, and everyone would work well, right? Except, maybe him.
He was stuck with the electricity boy, and from the looks he got from his original teammates he hadn’t taken that well on the inside or the outside.
Breathing deeply as he walked out of the session, warding off what he thought would be an impending panic attack, Alex made his way towards their little squad kitchen – one of the rooms in the building they would have to share with these other heroes as they trained and worked together. His hands were shaking as he walked as briskly as he could; in fact, he was walking so briskly and was so focused on making sure he didn’t have a panic attack right then and there that he didn’t realise he was quickly reaching his destination until he ran headlong into someone else who was entering the room.

Laura is a bitch. She has been called a bitch many times in her life, and honestly she prides herself on it. There was very little better than seeing someone you disliked and pissing them off, other than maybe making food for the person you loved.
Of course, it was also fun to piss off the people that you did love, if only just to remind them that you were still a bitch and that it could come out at any moment if she so wished. Kat hated it, but could also predict when it was going to happen simply because they could mentally communicate.
Jesse could not predict it. At least, not yet. Which was why, when he'd fallen asleep at his desk in class he had decided was probably more than just a little bit useless (he’d already revised the material for this class and knew everything like the back of his hand), Laura smirked from her seat beside him and waited until they had gone into group discussion before making her move.
Standing up, she leaned over her desk until she was right next to his ear. She knew Dimitri was watching her from where he was chatting with Bryce, Gabbie and Allie, but that wasn’t her concern right then. Taking a deep breath (in case he was smart enough to decide to wake up before she actually messed with him), she paused for a couple of seconds before suddenly yelling,
“Wake up, Reinhardt!”
The way he jumped, almost falling out of his seat, was very satisfying. The dark glare he sent right back at her was even more satisfying.
The way her desk suddenly froze over, her pen lighting on fire and then melting to the surface, was a lot less satisfying. She’d liked that pen. And he’d just gone and-
“Next time you think it’s a good idea to wake me up like that, you’ll be losing more than your pen.”
Instead of getting angry at the threat, Laura narrowed her eyes at him, smirking a little bit. In that way that usually pissed other people off. “Then maybe next time you shouldn’t fall asleep in class.” When his glare just got even harsher, she grinned.
Ah, yes. It was good to be a bitch sometimes.

Road trips were always fun, but they were also always long. Especially when you threw a bunch of superheroes in training on a bus to go to somewhere that technically wasn’t superhero related - as much as Allie tried to claim that it was, Comic-Con couldn’t be counted as something that they went for as part of their superhero duties. Even if it was great for public appearances, dressing up in costume and signing things and taking pictures for the kids.
Some of the others, like Jake and Alex and Link, had thoroughly loved the attention and getting to mess about in their costumes, making other people laugh and genuinely showing that supers were good people. Others, like Jesse and Riven, had found it more of a nightmare.
There were too many people around for Riven to genuinely enjoy the event. Even if Jodie had been bopping along happily and viewing everything that had been going on. The number of kids that had come up to him asking for photos... and then that one kid with the prosthetic leg and the other little girl in the wheelchair who had given him their heartbreaking stories and spoke of how he had inspired them...
Yeah, it had been overly emotional for Riven. Just to know the kind of work that he did encouraged and helped others-
Riven was suddenly drawn out of his thoughts about how the event had gone by a head falling onto his shoulder. He had managed to successfully tune out the chatter coming from the rest of the bus, but someone’s head falling onto his shoulder was enough to bring him out of that. Glancing down, he was a little surprised to see Jodie’s head there, her messy bun tickling his nose as she breathed softly. He was almost tempted to shake her and see whether she was actually asleep. But he didn’t. Something told him not to.
So instead, he shifted his arm so that it was over her shoulders instead, letting her rest her head against his chest. The deep breath and shift to make herself more comfortable was enough to make him feel like his heart skipped a beat... even though he knew that if it actually did he would be in trouble.
