2021 Year In Review
This year started out so positive. Theatre was back, everything had gone back to normal and then covid reared it's ugly head again. I haven't been to the theatre since June but those first six months were fun. Everything seen was in Sydney.
we are very excited to announce that our cast takeovers start tomorrow with Jenna Rolan calling in first and fast!
don’t forget to send over any questions you might have for Jenna/Emily or any of the other cast members and make sure to check out our Instagram for the best bts bits! 💓
Tonight is the happiest I’ve felt in such a long time.
If you live in or around Sydney (or even if you don’t make a trip out of it or check and see if they’re coming to a town near you - I saw them in Wagga Wagga and I know they’re heading to Swan Hill), check out the company Bar’d Work and their Shakesbeer Sessions and see if they’ve got any upcoming shows you can attend.
Basically what they do is they perform a Shakespeare play (current season is Twelfth Night) in a pub instead of on a stage. There’s audience interaction and every pub has a different layout so every performance will be different in some way. They ad-lib and riff off each other, sometimes it’s a bit messy or a bit doesn’t work but it just adds to the whole experience.
Tonight, I got handcuffed to one of the characters for a good portion of the second act and was dragged around with him when he had to interact with other characters, and it was so much fun.I can’t even put into words how much I enjoyed what likely would have been a horriffic experience if it had been on a stage and not in a pub.
Plus, there was Backstreet Boys and John Farnham. Very Shakespeare 😂
Not to make people jealous or anything but theatre in Sydney is back in a big way. I've got tickets to one show a week for the next 5 weeks.
Last week I went to see Anthony Warlow in his first ever production of Jekyll and Hyde. Like many of us, I’ve owned the complete works recording for 20 plus years but never dreamed I would see him perform the role live. He was a magnificent Jekyll but my only only complaint was Anthony wasn’t quite hitting the notes that he used to which is very evident in “This Is The Moment”. Never mind though, it was such a privilege to see him in this at all.
Here is a link to the full show. Please don’t share outside of Tumblr.

as all of our cast knows our most iconic adlib is “shut up Jenna!”, you just gotta come along to see it
(It only hurts a little bit)

This was a special one tonight. I’ve owned the cast recording for about 20 years and know every word but never in my wildest dreams did I think I would see the man on that recording, Anthony Warlow himself in the role. I know, I’ve seen him many many times but never as Jekyll. #jekyllandhyde #myhero https://www.instagram.com/p/B4XKiVZh3J7/?igshid=1sekx6jz1qlhn
