Finally went and bought a few things aside from familiars from the achievements shop

In light of some posts that have happened upon my dash recently - some good old fashioned Dragon Share! All my dragons are queer, but here’s a few I don’t share that much/haven’t shared in a while

Syereth: (gay and doesn’t care about gender, uses he/him pronouns) The first dragon I ever bought. He lives on the Tower (he’s got an ornate lil nest dangling from the side and lined with Niltan’s fur) and works as a jewellery maker, specialising in wire and filigree-style things. He’s kind of a grumpy asshole and claims he doesn’t care for anyone, which is a big lie because he adores his partner Falhen and also his long-suffering best friend Tirinka. (He could do with a better accent and a secondary that actually looks good, but oh well, maybe one day.)

Varien: (genderfluid and ace/bi, uses they/she pronouns) Word of Plague (plague rep) and healer in training who lives in the Library. They’re absolutely fascinated by medicine and healing magic, and are eager to help anyone in need. They’re also a big, shy introvert, contrasted by their best friend Perdita, who’s an extravagant little shit. On bad days Tharrum lets them borrow their chickens for cuddles and cheering up.

Byron: (non-binary and ace/aro, uses she/her pronouns) (Currently wearing Googly Eyes Of Shame for wegging me on her first nest.) Also known as Lady Baccata, she’s the leader of the girl gang in Whalesrest Town, who help maintain order and peace. She’s a polite, gentle giant unless given a reason to act differently, and her girls are her everything, she’d do anything for them.

Laranthus: (agender and demi-bisexual, uses they/them pronouns) Ringmaster and leader of the Glasswings Circus and adoring (and tired) owner of three bunnies. They’re the Parent Friend of the group alongside Aeynal, who got a headstart because she is an actual mum. They’re loud and charismatic on-stage, sweet and gentle off it, and they care for the pile of idiots that is the Circus like family. (Still needs genes and some apparel.)

Danaus: (science says gender is a lie, ace/pan, any pronouns) Kinda clumsy scientist who travels with the Glasswings Circus for some reason. They’re most interested in ways to integrate magic and technology, and reverse-engineering whatever cool and potentially dangerous thing they just saw. They’re also quite fascinated by Doppler’s magical abilities, much to Doppler’s distress.

Taenuth: (genderqueer and demi-bisexual, uses they/he/she pronouns) Patron Spirit of the Night Sky who travels with the Circus, like spirits often like to do. They act like a big sibling to most members of the Circus, which includes both sage advice and very clumsy pranks. I’m not sure what their act is yet, I just really love them.

So I rediscovered this thing and it’s still hilarious, so I associated some of the results with my dragons and I enjoy them greatly

Day 4: Favorite Arcane dragons, part 1

This one’s gonna have a part 2 bc all four of my non-lore dragons are Arcane and I do love them a lot, but it wouldn’t feel right putting them in the same post as my lore dragons

Niltan and Aruna, my progens! So ofc they’re here. At this point my lore has wiggled around so much I need to figure stuff out for them again, but I love them a lot nonetheless. Niltan is the sweetest friend you’ll ever meet, he was also my custom and I made him look like the ace flag without realising, so I kept that. Aruna is also super nice for a random if you disregard the unusable tert. She’s a little less social than her best friend, and can hold her own in a fight much better. (Yes, they were never romantically involved or anything. Just the absolute best friends in the world. Platonic soulmates)

Syereth, the first dragon I ever bought. He’s a grumpy lil shit and can be really mean for someone so tiny. He adores his friends tho (don’t tell anyone) and will make your life a living hell if you mess with them. Especially with his bf. When he’s not being a dipshit, he works as a jewellery maker, mostly working with wire, beads and tiny gemstones.

Neachon, technically a progen kid from my first nest before I figured lore out more, and a wish come true (I really really wanted an orca tundra from day 1). He’s a grumpy bastard who doesn’t know what feelings are, only loyalty to his clan and their safety. Also birds bc he’s a falconer. Eventually ends up discovering that he v much Has feelings and Many of them and prompty has a crisis.

Danaus, a magic-scientist who travels with the Circus? For some reason?? V easy to push around bc he’s awkward and soft-spoken and feels bad about his tendency to ramble, which makes him the Baby of the Circus and places him under the v determined protection of p much everyone. He happy flaps with All of his hands.

(Dragons in this story: Syereth, Aruna, Tirinka, Niltan, Falhen (as a Tundra))

Syereth isn’t about being friendly and running around wanting to hug the world or whatever. Politeness is fine, that he can do as long as all these giant lumps of meat apparently also called dragons don’t get in his way. But mushy feeling mumbo-jumbo is for losers.

So when he hears Aruna roaring at him from the bottom of the Tower to come down already and greet the newest member of the clan, his first reaction is to stick his tongue out at her (not like she can see), and tuck his head back under his wing to sleep. It takes another couple roars and the horrifying realisation that he might get his Tundra fur bedding privileges revoked if he doesn’t behave to have him finally gliding down to the ground.

As he arrives with an elegant swoop at the end of his spiral around the Tower, Aruna gives him an amused look he doesn’t know what to do with. He decides that it doesn’t matter either even before he perches on top of Tirinka’s head, who doesn’t get any say in the matter.

It’s only him, Tirinka, Aruna and Niltan present for the introduction, though the clan is small anyway. No one can expect a huge ceremony out of them. But Rennun is probably tending to her garden with Neachon’s help (judging from the one big and one smaller lump of grey Sye had seen lumbering over there from his spot in the tower before he was rudely forced to leave it) and Aelroth is away doing who-knows-what who-knows-where again. He’ll probably come running home in under an hour because he managed to piss off a bunch of centaurs or something.

The new arrival is a Tundra, and that alone does nothing to improve Sye’s mood. Another fur brain, great. If this guy is anything like Niltan, they’ll finally have two goofy furballs tumbling around instead of just the one! Wonderful!

He stretches out on Tiri’s long head before he continues his assessment of the new arrival, and dips his head near one of her eyes to whisper, “Great. Another wool monster.”

But Tirinka juts her head up sharply, making Sye fall backwards and just about be able to keep his spot on her head. He can’t see her face, obviously, but her smile is obvious in her voice when she speaks. “You could try not lying to yourself sometimes, you know.”

Sye doesn’t find it worthwhile to respond. He just huffs indignantly as he runs his paws over his head frills, as if they could get tousled from being handled roughly, before making them perk up again. Leave it to the local witch to know when his insults are empty. But he’s not giving her the joy of hearing him admit that maybe, just maybe, he is fond of his clan, even its less sharp and elegant members.

He turns his attention back to Aruna just in time to catch her saying the new arrival’s name – Falhen, apparently. He commits that to memory right away, and only half-listens to Niltan’s greeting as he looks their newest Tundra over again.

Falhen is sitting with his head bowed slightly, ears rotating back and forth as if eagerly taking in not only every word but every tiny noise in the environment as well. Around his neck is a light, pink silk scarf, tattered at the end and reaching the ground at his front paws, and it’s obvious that it has been stepped on many times. His fur looks soft, much closer to Niltan’s almost rabbit-like coat than Aruna’s more coarse one. But what’s most interesting about him to Sye are his colours. He’s a whirl of pastel blues and purples and pinks, painted upon an equally soft brown in a way that look almost elegant.

Sye’s mind is already whirring, listing ideas for jewellery styles and materials and colours to bring out the colours of this guy’s markings better, to complement his sparkling horns, and the thousand little things that could be woven into a mane like that.

He sees it as a new challenge, a new project – the newest pretty face around, just for him to pretty up even more.

He’s shaken from his thoughts when he can feel Tiri talk under him, her skull reverberating with her words. He adjusts his posture, twitches one of his frills into place, and gives Falhen a curt nod as a greeting. He might be pretty, but that’s no reason for Sye to get overly friendly.

“So...” Tiri says, this time directing her words to her friend sitting atop her head. Sye can hear that stupid smile in her voice again. “What do you think of the new guy?”

“He seems fine,” he answers, not feeling up for chit-chat, his naturally monotone voice hiding any possible emotions. He crouches low on Tiri’s head and spreads his wings for take off. “We’ll see what comes of him.”

He shoots up the Tower without another word, aiming to resume his nap and maybe start on creating some plans on how to fix that atrocious scarf Falhen is wearing. Tirinka doesn’t waste much time staring after him before she joins Aruna and Niltan to engage the new arrival in some proper conversation.

The Best Boy got his first gene, the tiny grump man got a neat lil feather duster tail (tho idk how i feel about it yet) and the Lorge Lesbian has got her finalised scry I now gotta work towards (tho Aruna’s genes come first, if only I could finalise I scry for her already)
