backstory:
Harmony was destined for greatness, literally. She landed her first acting gig while still in the womb. Her ultrasound was used on an episode of Murder, She Wrote and that’s how she got her middle name. When she was old enough she ended up becoming the Gerber baby for a year and her parents just knew their daughter was meant to be a star. As she got older they enrolled her in dance and acting classes. Harmony took her craft very seriously and then when she was about six her parents asked her if this was really something she wanted to do. Harmony insisted it was and every couple of years her parents would ask the same question. Not wanting to feel like they forced Harmony into this life, even though technically they did.
Harmony wasn’t exactly popular but she wasn’t exactly a loser either. She was in the middle ground growing up. Some people on the bottom of the food chain talked to her, some at the top talked to her. It just depended. They all had one thing in common though. They were intimidated by her and knew better than to get in her way. It always showed whenever the school play or musical came around. Harmony always got the role she wanted and people soon learned not to go against her. A few tried but they were crushed severely by the girls’ talent.
On top of all of that Harmony never really dated. She didn’t have time for dating. Making the best grades and making sure her portfolio looked exceptional was always the goal. She would start dating once she landed her first role on Broadway, maybe. This was one place in her life Harmony lacked in. While all her friends are were going on dates and getting ready for prom, Harmony was prepping what song she’d sing at the next competition or what monologue she’d recite for her next audition. On top of school plays she was also very active in her community theatre.
When time came to apply for colleges, Harmony applied to all the best schools for musical theatre. Somehow though she ended up picking Ginsburg. It wasn’t an awful college and had a fantastic program but she didn’t have to pick it. She got accepted into every school she applied to. She could’ve gone to New York but she didn’t. She got nervous. What if she was only super talented in Minnesota? What if she got trampled over the way she did to her classmates? Harmony couldn’t handle it so she decided to play it safe. She figured if she could still hold on to who she was in high school and become even more talent wise at Ginsburg, then she could definitely take on New York after graduation.
Harmony has been enjoying her time at Ginsburg. She’s learned a lot about herself the last couple of years. She had her first relationship her freshman year and it was with a girl. Something Harmony never expected to happen. They lasted all through her freshman year. When summer came her girlfriend went home but Harmony stayed to take summer classes. The relationship soon began to falter and Harmony found herself single again only this time her heart was broken. It was her first real heartbreak and Harmony threw herself back into her work and career. Ever since Harmony has gone on dates here and there with both women and men, though she leans more towards women, but nothing ever serious ever happens. She doesn’t allow herself to get too close to anyone. Her true love is theatre and she’s vowed to never let anyone get in the way of that again.
