it’s so funny when someone goes from being a lesbian to being a bisexual trans guy bc it’s like ok so the attraction to men was there but you had to make your way through the labyrinth and solve the riddles three before it could be unlocked

"fuckable" being the word carol uses to describe zosia is so funny and perfect. because there really is no other word to use. carol can't be attracted to zosia the way she would be attracted to a human being, because zosia is not a human being. she is no longer human, and she is not a singular being. she's part of the hivemind. carol may feel attraction to surface qualities of zosia--the way she speaks, her body language and movements, her pretty face--but underneath these surface qualities is not a person but a collective consciousness.
furthermore, zosia can't be won over. she can't be seduced. because that would imply that she had the ability to say no, and she doesn't. zosia's biological imperative requires her to ingratiate herself to carol and to have infinite love and patience for her. if carol wants to sleep with her, then she wants that too. she doesn't have a choice in the matter; it's how she's wired.
carol can't voice her sexual interest in zosia by using words that recognize her personhood, because zosia is not a person. she can only articulate this interest through the use of an extremely coarse, objectifying word. "fuckable" alludes to not only zosia's surface-level attractiveness, but also her very apparent sexual availability to carol. and carol is of course very disconcerted by both these things.
florence pausing in the middle of a song to be like “have you guys watched season six of buffy, it’s really good btw”
ive been very critical of peter david’s work, because it deserves to be criticized, but the fact that in the last years of his life he had to raise money thru gofundme for his health treatments while across the spiderverse was as financially successful as it was in part due to its featuring of miguel o’hara, a character peter david created, is absolutely shameful and disgraceful. i don’t know if he got any money at all from that movie, but even if they did pay him some small sum, it certainly was not what would have been a fair amount
