Returning to Skyrim from High Rock after discovering a deep web of skooma dealers. He was captured by them and detained for a year before he was saved by his two old friends. He has been charged on recruiting capable friends to the cause of fighting against this criminal underbelly. He is residing in Whiterun currently, pleading some of the Companions to join this noble fight.
Syldra:
In Hammerfell, a contact gave her a lead on finding her father. It led to Skyrim, and she has been wandering for two years trying to find the next clue. She feels desperate to find the man who ruined her childhood and killed her older brother. Whenever she isn’t in taverns listening for news about her father, she is hunting furs, crafting cloaks and other garments, and enchanting some for sales on well-traveled crossroads.
One picture you like of your muse’s faceclaim:
{ Will edit later when I’m not at work. }
Two headcanons you have for your muse that you never told anyone:
Syldra is actually very open to the idea of marriage. Just…it’ll take her awhile to realize that. If she were to get married, she would definitely adopt at least one daughter. She would never give birth herself.
She gives money and buys clothes for any and all orphans that she encounters in her travels.
Three things that your muse loves doing in their free time:
Hunting
Making her own soul gem-tipped arrows and enchanting them
Sleeping in trees
Five people that your muse loves/admires:
Her mother, Saelswe Neht’a Braigh
Her sister, Sylenna Braigh
Her brother, Faolyn Braigh, deceased
Her good friend and bae, Lielle Gulvanne
Her small-dog-sized jumping spider companion, Zeb
Three fond childhood memories:
The times her older brother would sneak away with her and her sister to get them away from their irate father
When she killed her first deer during a village hunting party
Seeing Faolyn’s brave, defiant eyes right before their father killed him
One thing they’d go through heaven or hell to save/change:
Her brother Faolyn, from her father’s hands

Syldra loved the rain. The sight of the drops falling from the somber sky and the sting of each one hitting skin was beautiful to her. It made the whole forest look alive and ready to embrace a new beginning. Her favorite part was the smell, though. It was clean, refreshing, and it always left her with chills after every deep inhale.
It was doing the same to her now, but this wasn’t the same rain. This rain was dark, black, and seemed to be falling from Molag Bal’s fingertips. The clouds were brown and grey, evil and hungry. The air was tight around her lungs, and the flashes of lightning were threatening to set all of Valenwood ablaze.
Her father was shouting again, and this time, Syldra wasn’t sure if her mother would be able to calm him down. She had never seen him this enraged before, over anything. He had already thrown and completely demolished some of the clay pots that her mother had made, shards scattering and threatening an inevitable future. Usually that didn’t happen until an hour into the fight.
Being in the other room of the house among the trees didn’t help, either. She could hear every shout, every scream, every angered command and criticism. Her brother and sister were still in that other room. Usually Faolyn would have taken his younger sisters outside to be free of Donnic’s fit of rage. Something had prevented him from doing so tonight. Perhaps he noticed how violent this was as well. Something was different tonight.
It was too much. She couldn’t bear to hear her mother suffer any longer.
“Ata, ni vasha nas. Shanta math! Ni nas man?” The young half-mer shouted.
Silence.
A loud roar escaped from the other room, along with the pounding of enraged footfalls, each striking terror into the little girl’s heart.
“How dare you speak to me in that tongue, in that tone! You are liver to me! Chopped, diced, beaten, and bruised. Nothing but slop for the trough! You filthy animal.” He shackled the girl’s wrists against the wall with only one of his hands, preventing her from moving. “This will teach you how to treat your father!” He raised a fist to strike, a fire burning deep in his eyes. He screamed and suddenly, Syldra was free.
She scrambled back to the farthest door she could find, the one her mother was in. “Mother!”
Grasping arms clutched her, trying to protect her from whatever wrath Donnic slung her way. Yet, none came. His attention was turned elsewhere. Somehow, amongst the confusion, Faolyn had run past their mother’s arms to come to Syldra’s aid. Whatever he had done had obviously caught the full attention of their monstrous father.
With a loud crack across the face, her brother was thrown against the wall Syldra had just been pinned to. Her mother screamed and sobbed loudly, yet it seemed dull compared to the silent defiance embodied in Faolyn’s bloodied face. His face was cold, like the rain, yet burned with a passion that held all of the love for his sisters. He had done this for her.
“You stupid, insignificant, cur! You are my boy! I do not mean to hit you. Oh no. No no no no no no. But yes. You interfered, didn’t you? Boy?”
Another crack against the face. Still, not a sound from Faolyn—only that cold, loving stare. Another smack. This time his head hit the wall. He couldn’t stand up any longer.
Their mother’s screams were hoarse, frail things, quiet and slowed down more than in reality. Everything was so gods-be-damned quiet. Except for the rain. And the thunder.
Syldra didn’t even have her voice, could only watch.
The final blow that her father struck was the end. It was the strongest hit, and the weakest action Syldra had ever seen. Her brother finally let out a sound, one single sigh of breath, before his head slumped over to the side and blood dripped from his chin. The expression on his face hadn’t changed, somehow.
Donnic was laughing, mumbling incoherently. Syldra didn’t care. Even through the tears all she could see was her brother—her protector, and her best friend—lying there against the wall, head slumped and lifeless, staring defiantly into Oblivion.
Everything was loud again, and Donnic was gone. The rain pattered coldly against the bark of the tree, and the thunder was a dirge, rumbling ever through that long night.
A quick thanks to nur-ek-hist and draykan for these questions!
1. How does your character think of their father? What do they hate and love about him? What influence - literal or imagined - did the father have?
Tor: He absolutely looked up to his father, Vazkeen-Rei. He was a mentor and staunch supporter of his little boy, and taught him all he could before he was murdered. Tor may have hated how hard his father trained him at times, but eventually came to respect and love his father for it.
Vaz's skill with the spear, and even making spears, manifested itself early on within Tor-Acr as well. Tor also likes to think that he keeps his father alive throughout his daily actions.
Syldra: Syldra's father committed filicide, and she sees him as the absolute lowest form of life on the planet. She hates him for killing her older brother, for hurting her and her sister and her mother, and for causing so much pain and turmoil not only to her family, but to the entire community.
Donnic Braigh's influence on Syl is deep and rooted in hatred and anger. Because of him, she trusts no men and very few people in general. She dislikes Bretons as a whole because of him.
2. Their mother? How do they think of her? What do they hate? Love? What influence - literal or imagined - did the mother have?
Tor: Much like his feeling toward his father, Tor loved his mother with all his heart. She taught him how to hunt fish in rivers and lakes, as well as all about the fauna and flora of the Marsh.
Nee-Kara instilled in Tor all that is his kind-heart and compassion for others. His optimism and general positive outlook on most things stems from many hours spent with his mother.
Syldra: Syldra loves her mother, Saelswe, with all her heart as well. She saw the pain that Donnic inflicted, and how toxic of a relationship it was, even if she didn't fully understand the extent of it as a child. The biggest part about her mother that she dislikes is probably the fact that she even allowed the abuse and pain that Donnic caused go on for so long. She sometimes sees her mother as weak-willed, which is something that gets on her nerves, even if her mother only displays her will in more nuanced ways than Syldra.
Syldra's mother wasn't one to enforce many rules upon her children after what happened with her brother Faolyn, mainly to avoid as coming off as harsh like Donnic always was. However, the one thing that she always taught was that family came first, which is a value that Syldra holds dear to this day.
3. Brothers, sisters? Who do they like? Why? What do they despise about their siblings?
Tor: Tor does not have any siblings beyond his 'nest-brothers' and 'nest-sisters.' Most, if not all, of those are dead, anyhow.
Syldra: Faolyn, her older brother, was everything to her before he was killed. He was her protector and her best friend. He would help Syldra and Sylenna escape during the particularly bad fights, and they would run around the forest just talking to one another about inane things. He was her role-model, and was everything calm and sensible in the world. All of that was taken from her when Donnic murdered him in front of the whole family.
Sylenna is her younger sister, and she cares for her very much. She tried as hard as she could to be for her sister what Faolyn was to herself. Try as she might, Sylenna was always very distant after the incident. Syldra had been too, of course, but Sylenna was a different story. Syldra dislikes how Lenna seems to not care about anything (because Syldra cares about everything) and how she seems aloof and lost in her own world all the time. She will do anything to protect her sister though, and hopefully killing Donnic is the first step of taking precautions in that direction.
