First Heathyn baby - the love you put into your ocs is unparalleled. Ani? Phenomenal. Santiago? Lulu's husband. Alek? Evilly delicious. And who could forget Chase, that sweet little bub bub. The world you created is beautiful, and I'm so thankful you let me and Lulu be a part of it. Plus you are a great friend. I'm a lucky duck to know you.

Second, Fio! You are an absolute joy to know. Whenever we talk it literally brightens up my day. You always know the funniest things to share and make me laugh. At times, Gale, chest heavy, feels as though he's plunged into an ocean. There, he would feel his pulse howling like unsparing undertows. To take a breath, sinking, is all he can do.

Shame. He startles a quiver when she settles beside him.

She smiles, understanding, and the wizard stares.

It's like—it's like she cares, he thinks. Yes, as if his miserable ending is what strikes fears. Gale sees the wamrth in her eyes, a color twinkling in the likeness of spring-month sap, and shadows within them mirror a riveting twilight, a canvas of nightfall like stars on the sea. Her breathing sings steady, a kind wind off the waves, and he fancies: you remind me so much of the waters at home—both a fathomless expanse my mind would swim.

Aniela balms his troubles. To be fair, just her company will soothe. She does not leave him, not here in the crest of his despair, and Gale, shoulders bumping, furrows his brow.

Kindness. Slowly, his somberness dithers. You could make the thought of drowning an attractive idea. Tempting. Oh. If it's to be in your tendermost depths, I'd be more than willing.

WELL GUESS WHAT, she's hanging it on her quarterstaff or glaive and giving everyone disadvantage on stealth because it sounds too pretty to pack away!! (She's also going to cry and her Ani about it.)

the smooch is quick ! shy in the way she's staring at the ground before she ( very nearly ) stumbles forward , to connect their lips. she's smiling. & blushing. thank goodness for her long hair , shielding her expression.

It was quick, and out of the blue; it caught him off guard to the point where he was momentarily speechless. Mouth shaped like the letter O. The half-elf blinks, staring at her. He couldn't see her expression, most of her long hair had been shielding it away. But his expression was exposed for the world to see; cheeks getting ruddier by the second. Oh. Fingers pressed to his lips, then he finally spoke:

there was a slow blink with furrowed brows as if trying to process what she had just asked. buggy held her gaze for a few seconds before looking away. ❝ stop looking at me like that. ❞ he demanded before stepping past her. ❝ you really expect ME to answer that? ❞ there was a chuckle before he gestured for her to follow. in truth, she was oddly kind to him, which unnerved him a bit, but it was also welcoming and she wasn't unattractive.

he cast her another glance, gaze narrowed slightly. there was silence for a minute before he shrugged and turned his attention away from her again. ❝ smash. now leave me alone. ❞

"Well, if I'd known I'd be meeting folk on the road I would've dressed for the occasion." He wouldn't be covered in swamp slime, he means. He wouldn't have practically run these people over, stumbling out of a bog. He certainly wouldn't have spent the past several hours creeping around avoiding tree monsters and wedging himself halfway into a damn stump to collect a scrap of proof that Kahga was a liar.

He's tucked it into his breast pocket, and he keeps touching it to remind himself that it's there and that with it he can make sure that woman never harms a child again.

He sees Arabella, her frightened little face, whenever he closes his gods-damned eyes.

"Apologies for trying to flatten you there. I'm Arawn."
