before sylvia takes on a more hands on approach with gerard the guards are just throwing them around, beating them, starving them, and basically doing anything to get them to take their pills. finally, when sylvia, as the doctor, is asked to help, she knows that none of those methods will work to get gerard taking their pills voluntarily. she doesnt want to fight them every day or shove the pills down their throat. so, she does the opposite of what the guards have been doing: she starts by telling them how good they are for taking their pills, each time they take their pills. gerard, especially after the guards' abuse, is so hungry for praise that its laughably easy. in no time at all she gets them from making themselves puke the pills out to opening their mouth wide and swallowing the pills with a grin. thanking her for taking care of them. she just pets their hair and coos, telling them how good they have been, and how grateful sylvia is to care for them. and that in turn means the next day is even easier, even better, gerard always more eager to please and doing everything to push her boundaries just to show her how much Better they can be. and well. if that leads to her getting more out of this than the already pretty sweet raise and the privileges of working for the Grand Immortal Dictator personally.... she tells herself shes allowed to be a little greedy. and its not like gerard isnt getting anything out of it either. sometimes, she lets him hump her leg. aaaaand send post
