SymbiOctober day 5! This was essentially my reaction throughout last night’s theatrical experience. I’m so happy; Venom (2018) the film the movie was pretty much exactly the weird, absurd, delightful trash-romp of a motion picture that I wanted it to be. A film one ideally watches on a VHS tape that one acquires from a gas station at eleven fifty-three in the evening, along with two lukewarm taquitos, some bottom-shelf liquor, and a mood ring. Somewhere between Death Race 2000 and Cronenberg’s version of The Fly. Just a...just a treat. I want to see it again immediately, and every day. <3
I wanted a thematically-appropriate treat, so I had some chocolate with me in the theater. It was continually melting in my grip, so I was forced to watch the film while also licking chocolate goop from my hand in a feral manner. I think this was correct.
