Death the kid x Symmetrical!reader
One shot
You remember it like it was yesterday. The day you met Kid.
You had just transferred from your run of the mill magic school to attend the world renowned Death Weapon Meister Academy. You were a special case. A student advanced enough to already be able to wield themselves. after a tragically horrible fight, your meister was killed and you had to adapt by yourself in order to continue your dream as a weapon to get to travel the world on special missions.
With your exceptional power and display of skills (and a good word submitted from Jason) you were able to be accepted to join the academy.
So here you were touring the school with Maka Albarn. A really sweet girl who seemed to be elated that there was another new student, especially a skilled student at that.
You both rounded the scarcely populated hallways lined with big glass windows, the sound of anxious muttering coming closer, and closer, until the anxious mutterer in question met you head on. Literally.
Kid bumped into you head first, your skulls clanking together with a dull thud followed by an instant headache. He was knocked flat on his ass while Maka gave you the courtesy of catching you and standing you upright. “Ow, damn it, hey watch where you’re going-” maybe it was the look on your face. It maybe the light behind you from the windows illuminated your symmetrical figure all too much. But he just seemed to shut himself up on his own.
“I’m sorry, are you okay?” You ask, reaching down two hands to offer and help him up off of the floor. Giving him a full look of your face.
He could’ve died right then and there. A perfectly symmetrical angel had just come into his life. From the way your clothes fit your body to the way your eyelashes seemed to be even on both sides, how you offered him two hands instead of one, and how your ears were evenly pierced on each side. Everything was perfect, just perfect.
From that day forward, it was hard to shake kid off of you. Firstly because he just so happens to live close to you since the student housing was located near his father’s castle, and secondly because he pulled some strings and changed your schedules to be exactly the same.
You’d be lying to yourself if you said you didn’t like it a little bit. No one had ever really expressed want for you in this way. Not near as carnal as this. There wasn’t even anything inherently sexual about it, but once you grew comfortable and familiar with Kid, as you inevitably would, he just had to be touching you.
He said it was because you felt so smooth and ‘symmetrical’ but you think that was just his excuse. But it really made you focus on things you’d never really noticed before. Yeah you’d gotten symmetrical back tattoos, but that was because you just liked how they looked. And yeah maybe you styled your hair to fall exactly the same on each side, so what? Maybe this was more than a coincidence, maybe you were meant for kid.
Day by day, month by month, things just sort of fell in line.
You and kid were exclusive now, and it would’ve been much sooner if you weren’t such a slow burn type of gal.
You hadn’t felt love like this since your meister was around. So it felt nice to be appreciated for every aspect of your being. Oh and Kid was utterly shameless about loving you. To recount a few instances:
One time he got a nosebleed because he’d done the mental math in his head and realized your past few sentences had been composed of eight words or ended in an even amount of words with an even amount of vowel to non-vowel letter ratio (you had no idea just how much this did for him)
Another instance was when he’d visited your student dorm and was greeted by the same symmetry he saw in you everywhere he looked. Pictures hung equally level eight centimeters apart on your collage wall, your notebooks filled with perfectly even lines of text and color coded to perfection. Your bed made with 90° hospital corners and two evenly sized pillows on your bed. He swears that was the day he decided to marry you
(Psa he gets you two matching wedding rings to wear on BOTH ring fingers as to ‘not disrupt your bodily harmony).
And maybe the most notable time was the first time you slept over at his house. Where he woke up to you, with your hair messy, yet somehow still symmetrical and your previous day eye makeup smudged evenly on both sides. Oh boy and that was just the beginning. Kid had an extensive morning routine where he made sure his outfit was perfectly symmetrical and so was everything in his house. So you took the opportunity to cook him breakfast. Two perfectly round sunny side up eggs, eight pieces of perfectly shaped bacon, and an exact measurement of an 8oz glass of orange juice.
He got down on one knee on the spot. Literally.
You swore you weren’t doing it on purpose. And you really weren’t! Which made it all more appealing to kid. Being symmetrical was attractive enough, especially how perfect you were in every aspect. But doing it effortlessly was so much more comforting to kid since he wouldn’t have to worry about you slipping up or being unsymmetrical by accident.
He made sure to make you his wife. He cherished you until the end of time, long after graduation and well into your grown up lives. And he made sure you knew he loved you for more than just your perfect symmetry. But he couldn’t lie and say that wasn’t a big part of your appeal…
