Been reading up on pet immigration to Japan and i just can't help but imagine Viktor was planning on going to Japan before Yuuri's skate was uploaded

Like holy _fuck_ is it a long process to bring a pet with you to Japan. And it's not like Makka is small enough to be smuggled through somehow (though I wouldn't put it past Viktor to buy her a ticket and or buy out all of first class so she wouldnt be put in cargo. Like. Dogs in Bags on New York subway style yafeel?)

You have to microchip them. You have to get two rabies shots for em. Blood tests. You gotta fill out a form 40 days before you arrive. Which is fine since you gotta wait 180 days after the bloodwork thing is greenlit, otherwise they'll be in quarantine in Japan. You need fancy documents from yer vet and appropriate _government officials _.

Like. My new headcanon is Viktor was _set_ to move to Japan immediately afer the Banquet. He tried to fly out within the month, but in the process looked at Makka and knew this was gonna be a long haul thing, and Makka would love Yuuri!!, he can't leave Makka behind!!

So. He starts the paperwork process.

I love the idea that Phichit, as Yuuri's Best Friend (they have handmade friendship bracelets, that neither wear, because Phichit's artistry is photography and Yuuri's is dance and they are both about is skilled in craftsmanship as drunken caterpillars), is subject, witness, documenter, enabler, and hype!Queen to Yuuri's drunken shenanigans.

But I also love how Phichit leans in over the banquet photos, seeing Yuuri down to his gitch on a pole with Chris, and just says, sooooort of scandalized, "that's so dirty".

Like. Realistically, when they're living in Detroit, it's probably safe to say that most of their drunken shenanigans are contained to the house. They probably don't get Wasted. Banquet Yuuri, blackout drunk Yuuri, is probably a creature Phichit has only had glimpses of.

And given how quick he was to upload that picture of half!naked!Viktor!possessively!clinging!to!Yuuri, i just...there's no way Yuuri would let himself get drunk around Phichit when he still had his phone on. Like. The mutual agreement was probably a friend held all smartphones hostage, or Phicit could only have access to a pay-as-you-go with no internet and a shitty camera.

I liiiive for party!bros, Frat Stars Are Us, gettin turnt on a Tuesday flashbacks of Phichit n Yuuri. But like, he's used to documenting Thirst, being barred from pole dance classes, and knowing how recently Yuuri's pet a dog based on his smile.

(I am an introvert living in Canada who didnt start drinking till my mid to late 20s. Google tells me Michigan's legal drinking age is 21, so it's not impossible Yuuri was buying them alcohol to drink at home. I am not niave enough to think they weren't able to sneak into clubs. I just _,genuinely_ don't understand the appeal of nightclubs so my default is "they drink at home with their friends". This is my limitation i know)
