Unnamed Chronicles - How it Ends
The abandoned home smelt like rot and decay, which really didn't bother her, yet she was uneasy. It wasn't the dark, monochrome scheme that made the house felt like the colors were sucked right off the decor, nor was it the linger dust that danced on the rays of sun pouring through the windows. The house was dead, but she was uneasy. The memories that died here as soon as she stepped out of it were still hiding in every edge of the house, under the couches and beds with the dustbunnies. It felt like they crept towards here, looming like ghosts.
"How long will you continue this charade?"
She didn't needed to turn around to face who adressed her. The voice had never left ringing at her ears, his sickeningly calm voice that now oozed of hatred. Hatred against her, and she didn't blame him. Neither did she blame herself. She looked down upon her fingers, pale, boney fingers that touched the dust coated window sill that was once a rich, earthy tone but now it had gained an ashen tint. Dried up wood frame, with the wax over it cracked like old skin. Her finger tips left behind three strikes as she stroke the frame. She had no intentions of replying the man that now stood in the darker areas of the room, she was here for a reason and though the reason wasn't him, it would've been a lie if she said she didn't expected him. The ever-haunting ghost of the past had showed up his face everywhere she had went, it became a daily event.
"And I'm ignoring you," she let out the words through her jaws, her eyes focused upon the three lines her fingers had made on the dust covered window sill as if it was the most fascinating thing ever. "Then answer me," the voice came closer now, he was inching towards her. Had she not been dead already she would've felt his biting, cold aura reaching like a hungry beast's maw. He had no footsteps to be heard, he practically glided inches away from the ground. "I have nothing to hide," she said as she turned around to face the man, looking at his pupilless, clear white eyes that glowed brighter as he stood in the dark. Just in time to see a mocking smirk curl at the edge of his lips. "Nothing? So you have started lying to yourself too?" A chuckle erupted from his lips before his eyes narrowed, his face shifting with an emotion that could fall under disgust. "You make me sick," and the disgust was admitted, loud and clear. She grimaced, her lithe frame now stood uneasy as she lost her calm facade. "How long can you keep this up, huh?" the man questioned again, folding his arms over his chest, staring through strands of dark brown hair that looked black in the shade. "How long can you keep hiding yourself in the dark? Do you really think no one will ever notice? Never question the way you constantly run away from everything that evolves around you? Isn't someone going to notice eventually?" The man took two more steps towards her, and she took two steps back, trying to keep her distance but she knew quite well that she was cornered. There was no escape this time, and he was aware of it.
"Notice, like I did?" the arms unfolded and fell to his side, and before she could react or even realize he had moved, the man bolted towards her in a flurry of dust, shoving her back against the wall as he pressed his face close to hers, a snarl that made him look more beast that human and eyes seeping of hatred stared up close to her own, cyan hued eyes. He had placed his hand on the wall, the hand that zipped past inches away from her face, and landed on a few strands of her raven black hair, pinning her to place. Not that it was required, the man had moved so fast, the only reaction she could give out was a gasp, inhaling particles of dust. She clenched her teeth as she tried supressing the urge to cough, staring into his raw hatred. "Look. At what you've done. To me," he spoke with a shaking voice, hissing through his teeth as his free hand pointed towards his face, where the rays of sun hit it. The eye that now bathed in the sun beam was black, nothing but an empty, lifeless socket. In a flash, his long fingered hand wrapped around her neck and squeezed, like a serpent squeezing it's prey. And though she knew she could not suffocate, she felt panic surging through her body, her own hands latching over his, desperately trying to pull it away.
"LOOK AT WHAT YOU'VE DONE TO ME!"
The man roared out, and she felt all the hatred he had wash over her entire soul. It was overwhelming, he had grown so strong, and he was not just a silhouette now. He was real, and that was enough to make her panic even more. "Let me go," she croaked, then lashed out her hand towards his face. Her hand hit the mark, but it made no difference other than turning his head to the side with fresh claw marks on his cheek - or rather, whatever that showed through his facial hair - and his grip around her neck to tighten. "There is no escape from it now, Syn," he turned his gazes back towards her as if nothing happened at all, he was once again sounding calm and collected, but from his pupilles, irisless, dead eyes she could see the storm hiding behind every word he uttered. "You have ran away for the last time. No more of this," he shooks his head. Her jaw opened, trying to inhale. Not that she needed to breath, but she was overwhelmed with panic. She needed to free herself from his grasp. And so she gathered her strength, and forced her body to obey her will, throwing a kick towards his stomach.
Her foot rammed itself against his stomach and she pushed him backwards, sending him staggering with a grunt. "Oh so this is how we're going to play, eh?" he looked up towards her, hunched over in his place, a hand over his stomach and another over his knee to help himself stand up. He didn't look amused at all, that is, until he saw her face. Her face, now stared with wide eyes, breathing short, quick breaths. Clearly she was too fearfull that anything she did at this point was purely out of instinct. She had lost too much advantages that it was funny for the man. His amusement echoed in the halls of the room with a slight laugh. "You've grown weaker already, Syn. You know you can't hold this up for long."
"You are nothing but a memory, get away from me, LEAVE ME ALONE!" she shrieked like a banshee, but did nothing to assault the man that now straightened himself, dusting his dark, olive colored shirt almost lazily, unphased by the shrieking. "No, Syn. I'm no memory, I'm very real," he replied her fear-stricken gazes with his own, almost emotionless eyes. The woman's hands latched onto her arms, clenching to flesh over them as if she was trying to give herself necrosis. She lurched back, as tears began to form in her eyes. She felt she had lost control of herself entirely, trembling like a leaf in her place. Nerve wrecked, her cyan eyes looked up at the man that stood silently, watching her. She had disgraced his memory, defiled it, allowed the corruption to seep into her veins. Why had she allowed him to be tainted in her mind? What made her corrupt all the things she had savored in life? Everything she had cherished, was now long gone, leaving her with nothing but a vast, barren land where no hope blossomed.
"Why are you doing this to me?" she sniveled in between her hiccups, whimpering silently as the man crept closer, towering over her boney figure and as his shadow casted over her, she leaned back against the wall, sobbing almost hysterically. "Because you need to be reborn," he answered, his voice sounded caring, even if very little. "Just like everybody else has, and move on," his fingers pushed strands of her black hair behind her ear, his fingertips glazed over her jaw as he pulled his hand away. "It's not going to be easy nor painless, but for the cycle to continue, you must fulfill your role in it."
Syn wept, and he waited until she had calmed down, silently, like he usually did. She knew the chase was over, and there was no running away now. What she had sowed, she would now have to reap. A sigh escaped her quivering lips, her eyes turned up to look at his. "You're still beautiful, even as a dead memory," she whispered, a shakey, weak whisper, barely audible. It was enough to make him smile, and place a brief kiss on her forehead. "Of course, in the end, I'm your memory after all," he spoke in a mumble, uttering the truth she wanted to hear. "Go with the where the winds take you, Syn. And please make it out alive."
Syn's cyan globes opened wide at the last remark, confused. "Wh-what?" she stuttered, her lips parted to ask more but all that came out was a gasp. Her entire body felt electrocuted for a split second, the source coming from the middle of her chest. She looked down, only to see his hand going through her chest frame, an eerie, pale cyan glow emitting from her now cracked open chest. Cracked, like a porcelain. There was no blood, or anything that oozed out from the gap aside from a ghastly glow. Her eyes looked up to meet his, as she mouthed a silent "why". "This is how everything ends, Syn," he simply shrugged, then promptly rammed his hand deeper through the chest cavity. The woman let out a painful scream, her body felt like it was suddenly set on fire as every nerve ending burned with a growing agony. "This is how you shatter in to pieces," he added on as her hands latched around his wrist, trying to pull his hand out, but no avail. "No," she whispered, and it was her last word before he yanked his hand out, tearing an onyx shard out of her chest. Her skin - her entire body - cracked like a vase and from the cracks eminated the ghostly, pale cyan glow. Her now broken body started to desolve, shard by shard, as she threw her head back and let out a howl of pain, falling to his knees, causing more chips of her body to fall and break away, and finally her entire mass toppled over to the side. The shards of her body, now looked like glass pieces, slowly vanished into nothingness.
His pupilless eyes stared at the onyx shard in his hand. "And thus," he spoke out loud, as if he was speaking to the small shard that was barely the size of his palm. "How everything begins."
((I got bored and decided to write out a scene that I may possibly try and turn into a comic page or some shit. Idek. BOREDOM. Enjoy.))
