Calendar syncing...

So, my institution runs their e-mail and calendar services through google. Which is cool and all, but I am one of the bajillion students who use a mac as a personal computer. Because my google-run e-mail/calendar account is @myinstitution, and not @google, I can't use the buit-in calendar program on my mac. But I can use my e-mail program...so frustrating! So I'm trying to switch to safari as my primary browser, because accessing my calendar is a click away. But wait, I can't download the google app that will let me use calendar offline! But of course!

And my phone is taking forever to try and sign into the account....At this point I think it won't work, even though it's android. 

Seriously, I wish OS's could get their shit together and realize consumers should get cross-platform seamless synching. 

In a perfect world, right?
