Lo, another headcanon has hit the blog!
Sypha's memory is genuinely and awfully terrifying.
Before we had writing as a collective species, most things (like information, stories, etc.) were transferred orally. It's also been said that when writing was introduced, our capacity to remember things have gotten noticeably worse since we have things to reference from.
We've seen her mind in passing, but the most notable moment for me was when she found most of a spell to drag Dracula's castle to the Hold. She distinctly said that she could finish the spell, and I have never seen her pick up a pen to write with. She pieced together the remainder in her head.
So as a Speaker who not only reads books but is able to hear of things, don't be surprised if she's able to just... tell you about something you mentioned once about a year ago in near-perfect detail. Because she's insane.
and I answer almost two months later ahaha!
honestly canon though because to carry oral history while knowing multiple languages and all that knowledge. girly is a walking 15th century encyclopedia.
