I can always count on your lore to be enrapturing and be begged to read XD.... I hope I worded that right...
Syrelius is something that just sort of happened after some time - and I’m glad people can enjoy the lore! It’s something i’ve worked hard to write, even if I mostly keep the stories to myself.
I don’t know how many of you have been here for over a year, but literally a year ago {a year and three days}, I drew NoVerse in this dress! And now I’ve redrawn him in it, because I wanted to see how much I’ve improved, and how much NoVerse has changed!
Suffice to say he’s changed IMMENSELY.
The old version will be under a read more!
So about kestyn, and is there more to know about him/her
There’s a lot to know about Kestyn! There’s an entire ramble I went on down there, so be warned - Syrelius has a lot of story to it, and this is just a part of it.
They’ve got a very complicated story - raised up as a purebred Scytch when they were actually a demigod. They were the child of Achlys - God of Darkness and Mystery. They were lucky to have mostly inherited their birthparent’s appearance.
Kestyn fell in love with another half-breed - Named Ileen, who was half-scytch, and half-Feliope. When Ileen revealed they were going to be having a child to Kestyn, they were absolutely excited for the child to be born. It was their child - which meant it would have mostly Scytch blood. This meant the child would be able to be raised in a society safer for them - as Feliope society had been destroyed during the 50-year war caused by Otirik.
When the child was born, the child mostly showed Feliope blood. Which shouldn’t have happened - because Kestyn is half Wynderi, not half Feliope. Ileen apologized - intensely - to Kestyn, when this was revealed. Kestyn was devastated - the child was not theirs. They demanded Ileen to tell them who the other parent was - and Ileen revealed it was indeed prince of the Feliopes, Beck.
Kestyn had planned their revenge on Beck. They had plans to get their revenge on both Ileen and Beck, originally, however Ileen died three nights after the child was born. This put Kestyn in a spot difficult for them. On one hand, they could enact their revenge and destroy Beck for good. On the other hand, Beck was the last hope Feliope society had. Kestyn decided instead of murdering or enacting revenge upon Beck, they’d bring Irene - the child - to him.
Initially, Beck was dumbounded and hurt by the reveal of Ileen’s treachery and how they’d left before having their child. Initially, Beck had been motivated to lash out at Kestyn. However, seeing that it was only Kestyn and the child at the door, along with Kestyn’s dark look, they knew that Ileen had passed away. This led Beck to allow Kestyn into their home, and help them raise Irene.
Both were still hurt by Ileen’s actions for a very long time. They didn’t get along, initially. Arguments, snark, and the like were exchanged. However, as time went on, they began to understand each other. They began to become close - and while they never fell in love, they were very close friends during Irene’s upbringing.
However, tragedy struck Syrelius. The God of Light and Knowledge ended up casting out Achlys, blaming them for the inevitable darkness falling upon Syrelius. This began to heat up the world inevitably. Shadows began to disappear, dark caves began to be filled with light.
And when Achlys was removed from the pantheon, Kestyn was one of the few that were able to end the cycle of creating new gods via the Elder Gods.
Kestyn was also one of the few to come back for New Syrelius - when the Elder Gods ‘Reset’ Syrelius and restarted the world from the beginning. Kestyn was able to take Achlys’ place as the God of Darkness and Mystery.
“…Time to figure things out.”
