Juniper and Sol
I haven’t drawn these guys together in years.
For @elliejaybird, for the art they made for me
(Ive been wanting to draw one of these fellas for along time, and now's the perfect chance)
Eris the Syrsin Doe
One of the only syrsin known to have killed a fire choro, she is legendary among does and stags alike.
Although she is not officially a member of her herd's asterism (leadership) she remains a highly influential syrsin, both for her personal reputation and for her status as mate to the herd’s leader, Mars.
Together Mars and Eris pursue the goal of purging all carnivorous animals from their territory.
2026 species lineup
Working on a more all-inclusive version for choros and one that includes grauls too. But here’s this for now.
Not achieving what I want. I will try again later.
Syrsin Sketches
These guys aren’t contemporaries, I’m just doodling them on the same canvas. Ananke is Eris’ father and Ursae is a buck in Mars’ asterism.
Oppy World Size Comparison
Trying to establish some (average) sizes and difference in size between the sexes.
Mars (Patron)
Bare red skin, and golden horns and claws, are common features in syrsin descriptions of the patron mars. He is an ancient patron, and so frequently takes on less “realistic” properties in syrsin oral history than more recent additions to their religious canon.
He is a syrsin patron of slain foes, or victory in war, (in as much as a syrsin can conceptualize war.) Despite his ominous appearance, he is not an evil figure. Syrsin might ask for his wisdom when facing an enemy of terrible power. Syrsin would not ask for him in death, but still they know he means them no ill will. He’s busy fighting for the living, is all.
Mars the, (still living) syrsin was named after the patron Mars.
