Rain Choro Color Variation 2025

Colors pictured here are three common morphs (dark, blue, and light), plus a yellow, (xanthrocromism causes yellow coloration in rain choros), and a piebald (specifically a light morph with leucism).

Rain choros have the most color variation of any choro subspecies. This is partially due to them having weaker elemental magic than other choro subspecies, which allows for more genetic colors to show.

Just the Choros + Ancestral Eagle

Someone recommended wolf eagle as a name for the modern nonsapient choro relative (ancestral eagle.) I’m starting to like this as one of the names choros would call them. Choros hunted all the oppy world wolves to extinction, so calling them wolf eagles would be derogatory and ironic in that they outlived their namesake. They’re the only wolves choros couldn’t get to.

Might be hard to write about without an omniscient narrator though.

Flood

Another extinct subspecies of choro, flood choros are the ancestors to modern rain choros. They have been largely forgotten by their surviving relatives.

In the past, flood and lava choros clashed with disastrous results. The culmination of these conflicts led to resentment between choros of different ability types, and to the development of the three modern subspecies. In the final days of choro society as they knew it, lava choros were completely wiped out, and only the weakest in power among flood choros remained. Their ancestors would be less powerful still, and much less ambitious, which is probably for the best, all things considered.
