Thoughts on a Stormy Night
Perhaps it had not been the best idea for Ivan to have stayed over for this long. But then, it probably was lucky that he was safely inside Lien's warm apartment, as opposed to traveling outside when the storm struck. What had once been a blue cloudless sky had suddenly turned dark, with thick, heavy clouds bringing flashes of lightning and rumbles of thunder.
"Again, I'm so sorry to have gotten you stuck like this, but there's really no way I can let you go out there." She carried back a tray with two steaming mugs of tea, setting it down on the coffee table and taking back her place on the couch next to him.
Lien heaved a sigh as a glance out the window told her, unsurprisingly, that the storm showed no signs of stopping. "I hope you don't mind this-- The rainy season can get a bit...rainy."
