Heyooo~! Could you go into a little detail on how you made the new MCs? I get editing outfits onto existing sprites, but making new faces??? Howmst?? Do you like... frankenstien facial features from different sprites and pull a Mrs Potato Head???
sure, I was going to make a tutorial about it, but i hesitated a bit because my editing style is a bit messy, i change courses every now and then😅.. here's to hoping tumblr doesnt mess up my readmore
so.. in this tutorial we're gonna make this mc design ⬇️
1. select a base layer (here: RT mc) also download shit ton of assets for this.
2. add photo of any random face (of same race preferably) with same expression as base layer. play around with opacity to see if its properly overlayed
here i chose slow burn mc. i overlayed her face over base layer so it fits perfectly. now i erased all her parts except eyes. (you can do this for any part of face you wanna replace)
3. oh no! the skin tone doesn't match, right? dont you worry! adjust > brightness/saturation/other options will help you to merge the new part with the rest of the skin.
4. do this for lips, nose etc whatever you want to replace. like i replaced the lips (cassidy from rt)
overlay, crop/erase, adjust skin tone.
5. not pictures bec im a fool: i replaced her nose with reagan thorne sprites nose i think! anyway.. keep doing the process like this and you'll end up with new mcs..
Hi! I saw your Veronica edit of the CG in Crimes of Passion and I was wondering how do you edit the colors of certain hairstyles to match Veronica’s original hair color? With the ombre and everything on point? I know that wasn’t the first V edit you had where you edited the hairstyles to match her original hair color and they were always spot on lol how do you do it?
hey anon! I think im gonna post the whole tutorial lol. here i used the ombre braid of ROD mc for veronica
as usual, tutorial under cut
1. put the wig over her head
2. see that adjust option? click it.
3. I've seen people say veronica's hair has a shade of blue, so i change the wig's colour to a bluish shade
4. play around with the saturation
5. now exit the adjust option and go to filters. select b&w filter and lighten/fade the effect a bit.
6. and it's done! if you wanna do more adjustments you can always go to the hair colour option and fix the hue!
How do you make your cg edits I wanna try and make my own with Trystan's towel cg with Angel?
alright so I'm gonna make this for ayna step by step
end result will be like:
step1: take your bg and overlay the cg sprite over it. for better results, match the skin tone of the character you wanna make of. like my character is ayna so i used hispanic trystan.
step 2: (not picturised because im dumb enough to not take a screenshot) take the face of character you want to and adjust it over cg face
step 3: duplicate the cg sprite, overlay it EXACTLY OVER ch sprite and push it behind the face sprite (move down)
step4: recoloring skin tone. go to adjust option and using hue brightness, temp etc, match the skin tone to face sprite
step5: see the weird black fumes? just erase them using eraser tool
step 6: now, overlay a wig over face Sprite cuz it looks weird and unfinished, and crop by eraser to keep that part of the wig which covers the head perfectly.
how do you do your headers? ive been wanting to make aesthetically pleasing headers and icons but I always fail at it haha
hey anon!
I actually explained about my icons in here. i usually use the bg colours which suit the outfit of the sprite. now, for headers..
so i choose a base colour/ any background of this size
then i add the character sprite
I add a sticker with the name of "paper tear" on top of the character sprite. now i add another colour picture beneath the paper tear and erase it in a manner that it looks perfectly behind the paper tear.
for special effect(not necessary) , i duplicate the character sprite and place it exactly on top of the prev one
now, I erase and edit in such a manner that it looks like the character is coming out of the paper tear
and its done! if you want to, you can add some sticker and stuff to make it look cute.
you can use a hex code picker for the bottom colour and change your tumblr bg to it for blending of header onto your blog theme colour!
How do you edit onto Poppy? I've tried and not succeeded at all
okay here's a tutorial on how i edit her body type;
by the end of this tutorial, the edit will look like this
i would like to say im cheap, i use picsart so this tutorial is suited for this app. and it might not be correct cuz i suck at adding clothes to her sprite.
first of all, start with pre arranged lingerie sprite of poppy and add a outfit
forget about the skirt, try adjusting the top to the upper half body curve. cut the sleeves off if required (add them later)
that annoying bra strap irritating you? simply add white OH MC'S upper body behind the outfit over the strap and adjust temperature so it matches her body texture
now, only keep the parts of this added body which covers bra straps and erase the rest
add sleeves
for the ones below her other hand, i decreased brightness so it gives a shadowed look
add skirt, adjust it to lower half body curve by stretching and erasing stuff off.
[not picturized since i forgot] you see those white light lines along the curve of the hips missing because we cropped? you can crop them from skirt and add it adjusting it the curve to give a good effect
add her lingerie body sprite again, crop off the hands and add them to the place the skirt hid the hands
[not picturized since I forgot to take screenshots] add her hair back to cover the flaws
How do you change skin tones in pics art? Do you overlap form the sprites? I sometimes use the retouch tool ---> change skin tones but the tones come off as weird at times
I overlap from sprites when the chest area is visible in the cg.. otherwise i have to resort to adjust option.
anyway, lemme make a mini tutorial of adjusting asian and brown mcs onto cgs (not for black mcs, you need to take the retouch option and adjust skin tone from there, because the adjust option to match their skin tone will give it a incorrect hue (lowkey ashy skin tone and won't match her skin tone as well as retouch option does)
1. take a front facing cg, add mc face on it. crop in her facial features as much as possible and avoid the blue lines in mc sprites.
2. add in the original cg pic again, push it to the background of mcs sprite (move down)
3. see that adjust option? use it. you can increase/decrease brightness, play around with saturation, temp etc.
4. now go to the eraser tool> invert. now use restore to restore the corrected skin tones wherever you find the skin.
like this ..
end product;
for brown mc: you need to increase temperature, and decrease brightness. maybe increase saturation too. use the hue option to give the pale skin some colour to match her face.
for black mc; you can try decreasing brightness as much ss possible, without making the skin look.. patchy? (im sorry I dont know how to word it) maybe you can use b&w option to make it darker and then give it colour via retouch app.
Hey, anon here who asked for the edit tutorial! Can you make a tutorial on how you make new fits for the characters? Like mix and matching the top, cutting out a part of this outfit and mixing it with another, that sort of stuff. Ooh, where did you get the wings from Mimi in Choices style?
hi omg im so sorry, i was a bit tired from uni! so here you go..
also the wings were from robert (ds)'s parrot!
so i start with an inspiration. this edit is a part of my atlas,mc matching outfits project btw
credits to @/mathilda.mae from Instagram for this cute pic
1. I download a shit ton of assets, from outfits to accessories to hair from both, rc assets and choices assets
2. select a base model. i chose te mc.
3. assemble the top, cut it out from any outfit and recolour it if ya want
4. for better colour, i use brightness, contrast, temperature etc
5. select a lower asset; skirt, pants or anything, recolour it too if you want
*this skirt is recolour vers of tna MC's red dress*
6. add bling! add shiny accesories! i took this sun from chasing you mc and the chain from hot couture
7. add suitable hair-wig
8. not happy with the colour? recolour it using hair colour option!
Hello, I was wondering if you could help with something editing related. My problem is that I want to have a transparent of Ina Kingsley‘s hair (caucasian sprite). When I look up the hair on abookishcreative‘s folder, you get the blond hair but there seems to be something missing from the hair (it’s like a shadow or just the darker parts of her hair near the neck/ears). With the missing parts, if you try to put that onto the corresponding body sprite, it obviously looks weird cause the hair is incomplete...
Do you know how I can edit these parts in or do you even have the complete hair transparent yourself? Thanks in advance!
Hello anon! i believe the sprite you're looking for is this.
whenever you edit hair onto characters, there are generally 2 layers
front layer
see the weird gaps in between? dont worry, you'll have to add a background layer.
background layer.
now hit that move down button, and it pushes the layer into the background
