@pinkauras / taren beck & sienna iyer
sienna may not know taren well, but taren knows sienna iyer. she’s heard hundreds of stories about the kid in the OR with dr. iyer, from how she did at her tennis match to what color dress she wore to prom to what happened at parents weekend at yale to how small her apartment was in new york. it punched taren in the gut every time she had to hear about how good of a dad rohan iyer was, but she loved it — craved even a glimpse of what a real father was supposed to look like. so it’s been weird to see sienna as an intern rather than her boss’s seventeen year old daughter, but now that dr. iyer is gone from pine valley she feels like she has some kind of responsibility to actually get to know sienna. it’s weird and so unlike taren to actually make an effort to be friendly, but she grits her teeth and pushes through it, sliding next to the intern in the coffee line — as if she needs a sixth cup that day. “hey,” she starts, and it sounds so fucking awkward that taren wants to die. there’s no world where she’d say something like let me know if you need help charting or make sure you’re drinking enough water in the OR, so she sticks to talking about what she knows — work. “heard you scrubbed in on one of vaughn’s cases. how’d that go?”
