Spring and Summer —@theharvestmother
The flowers were just beginning to bloom, but there still weren’t enough to get a decent bouquet. For that, Martha would have to visit the flower shop. She wasn’t complaining, though -- she loved the place. In fact, surprising Ilse with flowers was really just a flimsy excuse to allow her to wander the place for an hour or so. She loved the atmosphere of the place, although she looked forward to when she could get a similar atmosphere just by walking through the meadow.
The scent of flowers greeted her as she walked through the door, and she inhaled deeply with a smile. She wandered over to some of the newer displays, admiring the bright colors. The sun shined in through the windows, warming the place, and Martha felt a bit out of place with her long sleeves. This was not unusual during the warmer months, unfortunately, but she still looked forward to them.
She noticed the owner of the store then, an approached her cautiously. “I’m sorry -- are you busy?” Martha gave her a small smile. “I’m looking for some flowers for my friend. I was hoping you could help me?” She didn’t want to give Ilse the same old thing. Surely, there was something unique that could celebrate the warming weather.
