mivalentin: — CONTINUE PLAYING? [YES] [NO]
Iseul looked at his young friend and laughed, reaching out to tuck a stray piece of hair behind her ear almost affectionately. He didn’t know when he’d struck up this weird friendship with one of the most well known people on this godforsakenisland but there was something very magnetic about Eunmi that made him stay and want to help her with whatever she needed. It wasn’t that he thought she couldn’t take care of herself (perhaps in part it was), but he remembered how it was to be young, reckless, and a little bit stupid and didn’t want to see her do anything too wild. But that didn’t mean he wasn’t game every time she sent him a text saying she was going out on the town.
“Does it have to be one or the other?” he shot back, handing her a glass of champagne as they sat in one of the VIP booths, the music muffled slightly through the tinted glass. “I can praise you while I curse you and curse you while I praise you, my dear.” He lifted the glass in a toast before knocking it back in one smooth shot.
“You’re a bitch,” Iseul said simply placing the now empty flute on the table in front of them, “but that’s not a bad thing. You know what you want and how you want it which I think is admirable. You’re smart, you’re sly, you’re ambitious, you’re cunning.” He counted off the words on his fingers as he looked over at her with a grin. “Even if society doesn’t let you climb to the top I know you’ll find a way because you’re a bitch. You’re the fucking bitch and you don’t take no for an answer.”
rarely does she actually enjoy being called a bitch — at least, in this manner where he’s neither upset or annoyed by her as most tend to be when addressing her in such a way. even more rare than that is how often she’d allow anyone to touch her in such a way without any benefit to herself or her father’s business. but she already knows by now that iseul doesn’t have any dark intentions or hidden agendas with her.
no, in fact he feels like the second older oppa-figure she’s collected for whatever reason, endeared by her by some means. she neither knows why or cares to find out at this point. if anything, she finds it more amusing that dohwan would probably be skeptical or tell her to stay away while iseul would likely find it as entertaining as she does. maybe that’s why she accepts this much with him, because it’s so rare to find a male as honest with her as he is.
taking the glass with a shrug, her gaze is still sharp as she watches him, awaiting his answer, wondering how much precaution he will ( won’t ) take. a frown curling on her lips at how he downs the champagne, she shoots him an amused look as she takes a sip of her own drink. of course, only the ridiculously affluent can take champagne as shots, right?
teeth are bared for a brief second, a glimpse of a grin when he does call her a bitch. “ careful, someone might believe you for a second. ” she chuckles, well aware that she’s more known as a stupid slut than an intelligent young lady. it’s exactly how she wants it to be, for her to be underestimate but there is a great difference in that and being undervalued. because he makes a truly valid point, she does know what she wants ( sometimes ) and she takes it without remorse.
“ but i am glad you understand that much about me. now i won’t have to wonder why i keep you, ” she teases, polishing off the glass and tipping it in his direction for more. “ i do have to correct you on one thing though — i don’t need society to let me do anything. ” there is only one man on the island that could stop her, one man she plans on taking down herself one day if she has to.
