Russian T-14 "Armata" Main Battle Tank
Developed from experience with the cancelled T-95 tank program, Armata would be armed with a 125mm smoothbore 2A82 cannon, heavy 30mm auto-cannon, and 12.7mm machine gun.
At 55 tons, it would be somewhere between a medium and heavy tank, with a top speed around 43 mph and a range of over 400 miles. A hybrid gas/electric drive is also under discussion.
The Armata is planned to be the linchpin of the Russian Universal Combat Platform design, an array of heavy, tracked combat vehicles: infantry fighting vehicle, heavy armored personnel carrier, self-propelled artillery, air defense platforms, combat engineering vehicles, and an armored recovery vehicle.
The Armata and related vehicles are planned for deployment in the mid-2020's, assuming they get funded and built - although a prototype is rumored to be debuting at the 2015 victory Day Parade in May.
