Do you know what happens in the body of someone with type 1 vs type 2 diabetes vs a "healthy pancreas"? This is a simple illustration. Type 1 diabetics produce either very small amounts or no insulin. Type 2 diabetics produce insulin but the body is resistant and glucose can't be taken by the cells that need it. A "normal" pancreas produces insulin after our blood sugar increases secondary to a meal with carbohidrates or protein.
