anyway yeah pregnant colin being so angry and irrational from hormones and he haaaaaates the baby bump so fucking much. he lashes out at kitty and there's a padlock on a container with all of colin's cigarettes. but it's the quiet nights where kitty has a manicured hand on colin's stomach, and there's a thrumming heat that's unspoken between them- that they made something beautiful, and colin's carrying it. any semblance of frustration seems to dissipate when that quiet calm rushes over him. it's better than any drug he's ever tried. kitty's his rock during those months, taking every snappish insult with grace and knowing when to back off, or when to envelop him in a tight hug. she reads him easily, and colin hates how well she knows him, yet it feels good to him to be seen. he hopes he can treat his child the way kitty treats him.
