How would you rank Scrooge's girlfriends (money doesnt count this time!) from the one he least liked to the one he most likes?
I suspect either Brigitta or Goldie as first place XD
Hi and sorry for answering you later, since I didn't have a chance to answer you earlier, since I was busy earlier. But you asked a good question, and I myself thought about how to answer this, but I will answer your question by ranking my favorite Scrooge loves from the lowest to the highest place.
Yes, Scrooge McDuck has the most money, that's for sure, although he also has living loves that can be seen through certain cartoons and mostly through comics. There is a list that is exactly his loves mentioned in comics and Ducktales, but unfortunately that site is no longer working and that gave the most information. Scrooge certainly has a lot of them, but I will list only those that I am most familiar with and who are personally dear to me. There are also those that I don't like, but they are at the lowest place. I will list them after the warnings that I will post.
WARNING: For fans of Scrooge couples who may be reading and who are strictly fans of certain couples, please do not read this, as you may not like some of my opinions that I will express here in my post. I also love Scrooge with your OCs who I certainly love, but I will only list canon couples from the comics and cartoons here and I will express the ones that I like the most. Sorry if this offends anyone, but as I said at the beginning, this is not for everyone. Now I can start with my ranking.
12. Scrooge x Ma Beagle
This is especially evident in the episode "The Bride Wore Stripes" from Ducktales 1987, when Ma Beagle, the mother of the Beagle Boys, wanted to trick Scrooge into marrying her by posting a hoax photo of them together and threatening to divorce him by taking half of Scrooge's fortune. In the end, she didn't succeed, but it's funny when, through some easily exposed hoaxes, she threatens Scrooge that she will take everything from him just to take a piece of his fortune. I love Ma Beagle, one of my favorite villains in DT87, but honestly, that Ma Beagle x Scrooge pairing is my least favorite, or rather, I don't like it at all, and it doesn't make sense to me at all. Of course, I'm not so against it, I can see that it has potential, but more as a mockery when it comes to the Beagle Boys.
11. Scrooge x Belle Duck
Belle Duck is a tall, fat, and fancy duck lady, created by Dick Kinney and Al Hubbard and mostly appearing in the comics, and is Scrooge's old girlfriend and uses Scrooge to improve his fortune. However, while some people like her, I don't see much point in the two of them, and Bella is not my favorite character in the Duck comics. It certainly makes sense that she is used as a flashback or as a reminder for Scrooge of who he was with. Sure, Belle has some potential, but I'm not that big of a fan of her, plus I haven't read any comics about her, so I don't really like her with Scrooge.
10. Scrooge x Millionara Vanderbucks
Millionara Vanderbucks, also a wealthy business lady who appeared in the DT87 episode "Till Nephews Do Us Part", who supposedly loved Scrooge, but actually wanted his wealth. The two almost got married and Scrooge loved her very much, but Donald's nephews Huey, Dewey and Louie and Webby exposed her deception and brought in Goldie, Scrooge's old love from the Klondike, who chased Scrooge away from the wedding with a shotgun. Millionaira eventually wanted to marry Glomgold, but Glomgold didn't want to and he ran away. I also don't like this couple, since the love wasn't mutual, but only on Scrooge's side. However, it can be seen that women who are very rich can certainly deceive men just to get their way. I apologize to honest women, this is not directed against them, I'm just saying that marriages between the rich can be a very dangerous business.
9. Scrooge x Valerie
This is best explained in the comic "Zio Paperone e le grandi conquiste" or in translation "Scrooge McDuck: The Ladies Man" from 1997 where the director of Duckburg News named Valerie wants to find out who Scrooge's true love is so she interrogates mainly Goldie, Molly McGold, Brigitta and Magica to see if any of them are really in love with Scrooge. In the end she falls in love with Scrooge and wants to marry Scrooge, but Scrooge won't. It's a funny comic for sure, but it best explains why everyone would want to be with Scrooge who is the richest duck in the world and in Duckburg. This couple makes more sense to me.
8. Scrooge x Tillie Tightwad
She appears in the 1983 comic strip "Matchmaker" and is the niece of Millie the Miser and Tillie inherited a fortune from her aunt. She competed with Scrooge in some ways, especially in terms of wealth. Certainly, given her age and her hair resembling Grandma Duck's, she would certainly be a good match for Scrooge. Scrooge doesn't like her because she left the money in the hole.
7. Scrooge x Molly McGold
Molly McGold appears in the same comic as Valerie ("Scrooge McDuck: The Ladies Man"), however unlike Valerie, Molly first appears in the 1989 comic "Il grande amore di Zio Paperone" by writer Bruno Concina and artist Giorgio Cavazzano and she is also a businesswoman duck who does very well in Duckburg. She even works well with Scrooge, making their relationship even better. I don't know much about her, but I like her dynamic with Scrooge. She also doesn't like being manipulated so easily.
6. Scrooge x Brenda
Admittedly, it's more of a crush than love, but to be honest, Scrooge's first love, and that from childhood, was Brenda, an orphan who lived in an orphanage in Edinburgh with the evil Mr. MacMiser who pretended to be Mr. Jolly who supposedly ran the orphanage and forced the children to work harder and humiliate themselves. Scrooge, as a ten-year-old, got along well with Brenda, and even saved her from that Mr. MasMiser. Otherwise, it's "The Orphan's Christmas" ("The Substitute Santa of Strathbungo") from 2013 by writers Knut Nærum and Tormod Løkling and the brilliant artist Arild Midthun. Although it's related to a Christmas special, Scrooge certainly found someone who was just right for him, unfortunately when he left his country to find more wealth for himself, he also left Brenda. It would be interesting to see a sequel where Brenda is all grown up and sees Scrooge become rich after a long time. This couple is definitely one of my favorites.
5. Scrooge x Miss Emily Quackfaster
By the way, the translation from the first picture with Miss Quackfaster was taken from here: https://land-of-birds-and-comics.tumblr.com/post/169590755780/speaking-of-little-old-lady-quackfaster-ive-been
Created by Carl Barks, she was Scrooge's main secretary and appears mostly in the comics. First as an old lady, then in the Italian comics (Topolino) she appears as a younger lady with blonde hair. Needless to say, Scrooge really likes secretaries, and this pairing makes a lot of sense, especially if they are of similar ages.
4. Scrooge x M'ma Crackshell
This was only shown in one episode of the original Ducktales, "Blue Collar Scrooge", where Scrooge lost his memory, but somehow ended up in the trailer of his accountant Fenton Crackshell, where he met Fenton's mother and fell in love with her. After his memory returned, although M'ma Crackshell couldn't believe that she was with Scrooge, they continued to make love together. This love story is somehow close to me, because it says that the two often suffered from their complexes and flaws, but that despite the material differences between the two, the two of them still love each other. That's why this love story is among my favorites. Poor Fenton if Scrooge really married his mother. XD
Honorable mentions:
Scrooge x Granny de Spell
It happened once in the comic "Gifts of the Gods!". Otherwise, she's Magica's grandmother.
Scrooge x Bentina Beakley
Although a housewife, she also takes care of Scrooge quite a bit. I certainly wouldn't mind if Scrooge and Beakley were together, although I don't ship them together. It would kind of make sense, since Webby would also be Scrooge's adopted daughter (not like DT17 ended up doing), although I prefer her as Scrooge's adopted niece. Also in DT17 Scrooge and Mrs Beakley acted together as a team.
3. Scrooge x Magica De Spell
Although they are rivals because Magica wants Scrooge's first dime, I still see them as a great couple who have a lot in common in terms of bullying others and wanting their own dominance. But also as good souls, who wish each other a happy birthday. It is best explained in the 2014 comic book “The pact of the moon” or in Italian “Zio Paperone, Amelia & il patto della luna” by writer Vito Stabile and artist Francesco Guerrini where the two get stuck on an island, but still work together and end up falling in love with each other. Many times, Magica has also bewitched Scrooge several times to get One Dime, but still unsuccessfully. Of course, as the status quo, they reconcile, but also secretly love each other. To me, it is still the best underrated love couple that certainly makes sense to me, otherwise it is called Dimeshipping.
2. Scrooge x Goldie
Not to mention, since most people know about this couple, this is certainly one of the best couples for me. Although Scrooge and Goldie broke up while they were still in Klondike, I liked their relationship best in the Don Rosa comics and in the Ducktales episodes in 1987. And in the Arild Midthun comics, not to forget. Although it is a couple from the past, I think they would eventually reconcile and would certainly be great together. I also think that Goldie, unlike her first appearance in the Barks comic, would not take Scrooge's gold or care about it, but only for him, as Scrooge does for her. However, there are some things that need to be added about Goldie, especially regarding her personality, she is certainly a good fit for Scrooge, as Scrooge is for her. Unpopular opinion: I am not a fan of Goldie in DT17, for many reasons.
Scrooge x Brigitta
I know most people won't agree with me, but I think the love couple between Scrooge and Brigitta is excellent and the best of all Scrooge's couples so far. Although unfortunately toxic, I certainly find this couple fitting for many reasons. I know that Scrooge doesn't love Brigitta, but he does it for the wrong reasons. Brigitta doesn't love Scrooge because of his wealth, but because she truly loves him, no matter what Scrooge is like. There are situations when Scrooge loves her too. A special example is the comic strip “Zio Paperone e la formula della riccezza” from 1995 by the writer Carlo Panaro and the artist Romano Scarpa. More about it in this post: https://ducklooney.tumblr.com/post/746512932462051328/do-you-think-uncle-scrooge-loves-in-a-romantic
Brigitta also understands Scrooge's family very well, and Scrooge's family loves her very much. Brigitta also understands Scrooge's family very well, and Scrooge's family loves her very much and has accepted her for who she is. There are times when they help each other. Brigitta also likes to draw for Scrooge, so she often draws a portrait of him in money, which he especially likes. There is one comic that shows it in particular. And their love couple reminds me a lot of the love relationship between Pepe Le Pew and Penelope Pussycat from Looney Tunes. They also appear most often in comics. Unlike his nephew Donald, Scrooge does not have a strict canon of who he has to be with, but to be honest, besides his money, it would be Brigitta, provided that she is not so toxic. Of course, despite that, she has great ideas and is very lively, intelligent, clever and likes to help others. So she can cover Scrooge's shortcomings. In my opinion, the best couple, if we think of Scrooge's couples. Which doesn't mean I don't like the previous ones I listed (not all).
In my opinion, the best couples for Scrooge, besides money, are Scrooge with Magica, Scrooge with Goldie and Scrooge with Brigitta and that's my personal opinion. Of course I would add more, but this is enough for me. I hope you are satisfied with these answers and my ranking, although I am not a proshipper because I believe that everyone has the right to their favorite couples, of course even if it is a canon character with an original character (canon x OC). These couples are also ok, and I have seen many that make more sense than canon couples.
Sorry if anyone doesn't like this, these are just my opinions. I hope you like these answers and if you have any questions, feel free to ask me. :D
Written on May 3rd of this year.
You can view the entire comic "Scrooge McDuck: The Ladies Man" here (not my translation):https://photos.google.com/share/AF1QipN_h15kJj3h9Y2UQuyWeAChRkiYzr-eyUhrC-nXelrKGyVcNEzxCpeKXGG8shZFag?key=X1pmUTRCM1NjYjBTUm12N29lQUdEMndTaXAyWUF3
P.S. If anyone knows of any more Scrooge loves from the comics, feel free to add.
Although I think Scrooge loves/loved them both, who do you think comes closer to being the romantic love of his life (after money I mean XD) Goldie or Brigitta? And If Scrooge ever marries, who do you think it's most likely to be the bride?
P.S. I like Scrooge/Goldie, but I adore Scrooge/Brigitta.
Good question and sorry for the late reply. I like both pairs equally, but I think it depends. If Scrooge had stayed in Klondike, he would have been with Goldie, and if he lived in Duckburg now, he would be with Brigitta. It's a really hard choice, but I agree that both couples are great, with the fact that it would definitely be more interesting and fun with Brigitta. If Scrooge knew more that Brigitta truly loves him out of love, it would be great for sure, but either way, I'd choose Scrooge and Brigitta because of the present, and Scrooge and Goldie because of the past. It's just hard not to decide, although I would still prefer Scrooge with Brigitta like you.
I hope others don't mind what I said and this is just my opinion, and I hope you are satisfied with my answer. :D If there are any questions, feel free to ask.
If you could cast actors as the Duck family (and friends) in a live action series (where the charachters would be in human versions, ofc) who would you cast?
Hi and sorry for answering you late again. Hm, to be honest I didn't think about that, but to be honest I'm not a fan of ducks being in a live action movie or live action series. Of course if it were possible to put animated ducks in those real action movies like Who Framed Roger Rabbit or something like this:
But if you think that as actors they would play those characters who are not ducks, but humans, then it would make more sense. By the way, last year or two years ago I know that French fans made something similar, in which Scrooge and Donald go on adventures, I just forgot the title. But there's also this movie made by Icelanders that's like a parody of Donald Duck comics:
The movie is called "Dogma" and there an actor plays Donald who is struggling in life and stuck in prison and has a lot of trouble and in that movie it is spoken in Danish as a parody of Danish comics where they usually publish Donald Duck comics as well as a parody of Danish movies which are usually criminal and dramatic. By the way, it's not for children, because adult humor and black humor are mostly used, which can only be understood by adults who know Donald Duck comics, and in Scandinavian countries Donald Duck is very popular, so the area of popularity is not limited to Italy. Ironically more struck by the authenticity of the Donald Duck comics than either version of Ducktales.
Of course, if it was a normal live action movie as a parody of Donald Duck comics without horror and black humor, only with real actors playing our heroes in real life, it would be a good idea. You just need to have good script writing and good actors and it would turn out well.
If I were to play someone, it would most likely be between Donald Duck and Scrooge McDuck, and possibly Fethry Duck and Gladstone Gander, if the opportunity arose. I certainly can't play Donald's nephews, because I'm no longer a child, but an adult, but 10-year-old boys could play them. If a good parody is made and good actors are found, it would be a good movie, although everything depends on the given outcomes and the situation. But it would most likely be played by Donald, Scrooge, Gladstone, Fethry, one of the Beagle Boys, Gyro or maybe Glomgold or Rockerduck, though it depends if my voice is up to it.
I hope I satisfied you with these answers and I'm glad you asked me. If you have any questions, feel free to ask me and I hope you are satisfied and sorry if I offended you with these answers. All in all, thank you. :D
If there are any ideas for that movie or live action series (just for cosplay, nothing more) and someone who could play one of the characters from the Donald Duck family and friends from the Duck comics, feel free to get in touch and say it here.
Hello, I'm writing a story where Grandma Duck has everyone in the family at her home, and they asks her to tell them a story. She proceds to tell them a love story about a forbittten romance. At the end of the story she reveals the couple is their family's ancestor. Who out of the existing Ducks do you think I could choose to be the couple? (and what should be the current Ducks reactions when they find out they are their ancestors?)
Hi, sorry for the late reply, but I think I answered this question before which you can read here: https://ducklooney.tumblr.com/post/753671286120644608/hi-im-creating-a-short-story-here-grandma-duck
However, when you mentioned the story of Grandma Duck, I would have mentioned her grandfather Cornelius Coot who was the originator of the Duck family we know today. Humperdink Duck is a descendant of his ancestors Don Dugo and Pintail Duck, while Grandma Duck has a special role, because her father Clinton Coot was the founder of Junior Woodchucks, while her grandfather Cornelius Coot was the founder of Duckburg. Yes, Elvira Coot (Grandma Duck) married Humperdink Duck. In the early 19th century, Cornelius went west to the Calisota area and founded the future town of Duckburg there and married a Native American duck. Although she was never named, some call her Pluckahontas. It can be said that their love has links to Romeo and Juliet and a mixed race love affair can be labeled as such. I guess that's what Grandma Duck meant when she told her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. There are also pictures of Cornelius and his wife, unfortunately I am not sure who the author is.
And if someone asks me, this is not Don Rosa, but some anonymous artist (artist who signed "M. W.") who did it for Don Rosa.
Yes, it can be said that it was a forbidden love, because they come from different people and Pluckahontas herself was the daughter of a chief of a tribe who did not want her to marry a white duck. However, they eventually got married and created their new family. Again that's just my theory and my guess.
I imagine that Donald and his nephews would be more in favor of being Native Americans after learning about their family tree, which is not surprising, since in the comics Donald's nephews often play Native Americans. They would have more of a spirit for freedom and what Native Americans usually have, a gift for nature and an understanding of animals.
Again, it is not certain if Clinton Coot was actually their son, as it is not known if Pluckahontas married Cornelius officially. Certainly, even if they didn't, they certainly felt for each other. At least in my opinion, but I think that couple would be the answer to your question.
And I'm glad that you asked that and that you are satisfied with my answers, to help you with your story. But by all means, if you have any other questions, feel free to ask me. Again that's just my opinion.
Hi! I'm creating a short story here Grandma Duck is with her family members (Donald, the 3 nephews, Scrooge, etc), they ask her to tell them one of her famous stories, and she proceds to tells a love story (Romeo and Juliet-like), in the end it's reavled that the main couple are ancestors of the Duck Family.
You got ideas (out of the existing charachters already in the Duck Family Tree) who i could use to be the couple?
Hi! I'm sorry that I didn't answer this earlier, I had obligations and the like and I'm often away (sometimes I usually just put posts or my drawings here on my side blog, so I don't get to reblog everything, but that's my problem), but I agree with you and your ideas.
To be honest as far as I know comics and every author makes their own family tree, I haven't come across anything like that yet except for one family tree that might be this one (I think Disney Tokyo artists did it):
Otherwise Donald's ancestors who would be Romeo and Juliet would be like Donald and Daisy since Donald's parents and Daisy's parents would be against the union of the two. And Donald and Daisy would go secretly together away from their belligerent parents and probably went from Italy to America. Although you could make a comic about it, it would be much more interesting and fun, unless he did it before. The only thing I found on INDUCKS is this cover by Diego Bernardo who drew it in 2020 for the German and Danish editions. Scrooge McDuck as William Shakespeare writes Romeo and Juliet, and Donald and Daisy play them. It would be interesting to see if they are Donald's ancestors, but I highly doubt it. Also Romeo and Juliet ends tragically for the lives of both people.
To be honest, I'm not sure who it could be, as each author's family tree is different, and I don't think I've found a single Romeo and Juliet-like ancestor of Donald's. However, your story is excellent in my opinion and keep writing, so if you need something, feel free to send it to me or ask if something is not clear to you.
I hope I satisfied you with your answers and I'm sorry if I left you incomplete. Feel free to ask if you want. Your idea is really great and it could be added to the story of Donald's family tree.
If in an alternative universe where Scrooge McDuck married Brigitta, and they had a child, what do you think would be his/her personality and apparence?
Hi! Good question. I haven't thought about it yet, although I strongly doubt that they would have had children if they had married at an older age. If they had married in their younger days, they would have had many, now whether one or more of them depends on Scrooge and Brigitte. If they had one child, either a boy or a girl, it would be very lively and full of self-confidence like the mother, and like the father it would have patience and diligence, and maybe greed with money. Yes, he or she would make a lot of problems. There is also a fan who drew Scrooge and Brigitta with two children and you can see it here: https://www.deviantart.com/saichy14/art/Mcduck-family-861092012
Otherwise, Scrooge and Brigitta without any unborn children would have Donald as Scrooge's nephew, Daisy as Scrooge's nephew's wife, Huey, Dewey and Louie Duck as Scrooge's grandnephews and Loretta MacBridge as Brigitta's niece.
By the way, you gave a good idea for this and I might do something related to it, since I haven't thought about it until now, although it all depends on how much free time I have, since I've been busy a lot lately.
And don't worry, I will answer your previous questions as soon as I find out certain information and let you know. Anyway, thank you for asking and feel free to ask me if you have anything to ask. I appreciate it. :D I hope you are satisfied with these answers.
