High School Teachers: In university if you’re late to lecture you will be locked out because there is a higher standard of behavior and you’re expected to be responsible.

University Professors: If you are late to lecture you will be locked out because this room has a keypad lock and neither I nor facilities can figure out how to unlock it. But if you knock one of the TAs will let you in.

Prof was sick so I still had to show up to lecture to tell the kids that there isn't lecture.

"ARTH 364 is canceled today. If you're interested in mesoamerican/Latin American archaeology feel free to stay and talk to Kathryn"

No one wanted to talk to me about archaeology.

today we went to the park with two integration classes, i'm a TA in one of them, and we played music and ate homemade things and it was so lovely. when it was time to go home these ladies from syria (and one from iran) grabbed a drum and started singing and clapping and laughing, and invited me to sit with them. they sang about love and syria, their country and culture, which made them happy rather than sad.
