You both were quite tired after a small dinner with the RRR team. Charan had invited you, it felt good to see people recognize you as a part of Taarak's life.
However that happiness had slowly shed the pink and donned on a ugly green.
On Taarak's right was Alia, you liked her. She was sweet. She was talented. She was sitting close to your boyfriend.
You breathed your way through the small prick of disappointment, shrugging it off. They were actors- stars. They had to maintain good relations with other actors.
That was what this dinner was for.
Everyone chatted away around you. They talked about movies, their travels and everything. Once in a while you'd give your input. You weren't really interested though.
The only one quieter than you was the director himself. Huh, weird. He usually spoke animatedly with charan and taarak. Maybe he was just tired, like you.
You looked at your right, you smile faded a bit. He was leaning towards her making jokes, teasing her.
Her wide eyed look everytime he insinuated anything threw him in stitches.
You weren't a jealous person. You weren't.
But seeing her get attention from him stirred something in you.
It was ridiculous. He was your boyfriend and he loved you. There was no need feel this way. You remembered how you woke up this morning- with the most expressive, adoring eyes staring at you.
Shame coursed through you. You hung your head and ate slowly to distract you from your thoughts.
It was late, everyone was tired so nobody really questioned why you weren't smiling anymore.
Except the two on your right. They were the only voices that could be heard.
Other than your emotional turmoil, you were genuinely spent.
Wanting to just curl in your comforter, you put a hand on Taarak's thigh and shook him, "can we go now?"
Rajamouli interrupted you two, "there's uh, some work he needs to finish then he can go."
It was late. Well over anybody's work time but you understood. Giving your boyfriend a quick kiss on cheek, you left.
All the way back your apartment you kept hearing their secretive giggles over and over. You tried to push them away, you tried to think of all the times you both spent together.
You got lost in your memories. It might not have completely eased your mind but it gave the momentary relief.
You curled up on your couch and slept like a baby. Taarak was most probably not coming home till the morning.
A shrill sound broke your sleep. You looked at the clock, four in the morning.
You got up and opened the door, letting your boyfriend in. Still sleepy you went back to the couch and tried to find your comfortable position again. You were about to close your eyes when two strong hands lifted you, startling you.
"You are going to sleep in my arms so I can sleep," his words melted you.
Before sleep overtook you, you captured his lips and in lazy, slow kiss. Smiling you two broke away and went back to sleep.
Your insecurity was gone, vanished in thin air. You felt bad for even feeling that way.
But you were happy, happy to be free of such thoughts.
Then came the rrr promotion events and your insecurities came back with full force. The way he poked fun at her whenever she was present. The way he spoke of her.
Their interactions made a small place for themselves in your brain.
You noticed how he never missed a single chance to mess with her. You didn't miss the admiration in her eyes.
They were traveling and they were all together for most part of the days.
You looked at them and a sudden thought hit you, he would be happier with her.
She had a boyfriend, you reminded yourself.
Your brain carefully ignored you and only zeroed on the obvious bond. This was how your relation had started, jokes, fun and giggles. You couldn't help but compare.
She made him laugh the same you did. She looked beautiful. She was well-spoken, successful. Talented. Got his humor. In a short amount of time, she had established a comfort with him that you couldn't for months.
Most importantly they looked good together. People noticed. They commented, said they looked better. People wished for them to date.
It would be much easier, he wouldn't have to be as protective as he was with you. He'd be free of the stress.
Your heart lurched. You tried to push away such invasive thoughts with teary eyes.
She looked like a goddess and here you were, on your couch looking like a- a nobody.
He was such a kind soul. He deserved someone as amazing as her. Not a plain city girl like you.
Silent tears rolled down your cheeks. He deserved so much better, and he was going to realize it sooner or later.
You loved him. You were used to him and when he decided to leave you, you weren't sure how you would live.
In between the hiccuped breaths, your hands tried to wipe the tears.
Your phone lay forgotten on the couch. You didn't see the seven missed calls.
With little to no strength, your palms covered your wet face and you sobbed. You were going to loose him. He was going to go away.
You couldn't hear the loud knocks over your violent sobs. Sliding down your face your hands came to hold your neck, you tried to breathe properly.
Your hands clawed as if that'd help.
You didn't see the knob turning. You forgot Taarak had a spare key.
He wasn't ready to see you in such a state. He almost had a heart attack- you looked shattered.
The door closed with a slam, snapping you out of your world. Taarak stood there with a worried look. Within a second he was by your side, gathering you in his arms.
You tried to wipe your tears and smile but no use. He was already fussing over you. "Kya hua jaan?"
As if his words broke a dam, you broke into uncontrollable sobs. "Taarak.. taarak I love y-you."
You hid you face in his chest cherishing the feel. You wanted to take this moment and burn it in your memories, you wanted to steal this one moment in his arms before he leaves you.
Unable to understand what had happened, he slowly rubbed your back, silently shushing you. Your whimpers were chipping at his heart.
After a while he got you a glass of water. Tenderly he brushed away your hair.
He shifted closer, once again asking what had sent you tumbling down the hill.
You weren't sure how to lie your way through this, you had just pathetically cried in his arms.
It pained to see you look away from him and lie to him. Then his eyes went to the display and the interviews playing. His eyes widened, almost sure of what had broke you, he asked again.
You looked at the clasped hands around your palm, the beautiful eyes. You didn't want to loose him.
You lips moved on their own before you could even think you blurted out, "please don't leave me taarak."
Immediately you looked down in shame. You wished he hadn't heard you. This was embarrassing, you couldn't ask him to not leave you if he wanted to.
More tears leaked out of your closed eyes.
Taarak cursed under his breath and tilted your chin up. "I'm not leaving you jaan. How could I leave my best mornings and my most cherished nights? You have no idea. The thought of living without you is like living without a soul."
Emotions ran rampant. He felt like hurting the universe, tears in your eyes unbearable for him. He took a deep breath, "I have imagined my life around you. My life without you would be like this world without the sun."
Pulling you in his lap, he cupped your face.
"No.. you are my happiness. You make me, me."
His sincere words sparked a new fire of love. You would hold onto him as long as he wanted you to.
"Give me this chance, Y/n. Together we'll prove the world wrong, together we'll fight against the world. Give me one chance to battle your insecurities."
He didn't care if he sounded desperate. He wasn't going to let anyone take you away from him. He wasn't going to let their love loose against insignificant moments.
"I know, sometimes I behave like a idiot but I'm your idiot na? You say it all the time? Stay then, be your lover's salvation. Be mine forever."
Throwing your hands around his neck, you crashed your lips on his, sealing your love with a kiss.
