My current mismag2 tabby theory:

Tabby is a piece of the broken well of magic

The well is a big theoretical concept, sure. But I’m betting there’s a physical analog to it too. That’s why Tabby is afraid of being left alone. That’s why Tabby doesn’t want to go to Gowpenny, wants to keep the road trip going.

tabby isn’t love bombing. tabby is fawning because he is terrified of being trapped for eternity with his new found sentience, unable to leave, unable to interact with anyone again

a lot of let’s keep the road trip going bc when it ends i’ll probably be changed forever in frightening ways.
