The more J.K. Rapingthefantasygenre Rowling builds onto the hellscape Harry Potter has become, the more devastated we feel about being such a fantasy fan... Harry Potter was so much of our childhood, and was a huge part of me exploring and expressing my queerness, in spite of all of it. Hagrid and Luna Lovegood and Sirius and Tonks had brought so much important comfort to me in middle school... Being a Slytherin has been something I'm so proud of and having something I can still remember and connect to even through all the amnesia and dissociation is such a big part of me... How am I supposed to lose that?

This isn't a defense post, to clarify, or an explanation of anything. I've just reached the point where we genuinely feel like we need to let go of Harry Potter as a passion and interest, but I just... I don't know how.

How do you let go of a lifelong special interest when the artist gets so bad that separation of art and artist is no longer possible? I've not bought anything new or supported anything released since Fantastic Beasts, when I found out more about her actions, and I haven't been displaying my merch for the last few years, but it doesn't feel like enough anymore.

Advice would be appreciated... This shit was my life for a long, LONG time...
