As a part of my Personal Practice module for university, we were required to create a photograph discussing the idea of Tablaeu imagery. For me this concept of a constructed image was best explored through a self-portrait, because what is more constructed than setting a camera up and posing for it? I wanted to create a portrait that explored themes of both claustrophobia and escapism. These are themes that both recur in my works, and I like the emotional and personal feel that they give this image.
