tachus made an undead tier list on her blog and i reblogged it once before but her quirk is actual hell to read so here, have an unquirked version of a very undead pilled researchers rambling about undead

in a way i wish Artilleron would let me post more of my research, but on the other claw i have to be impartial on the paperwork.

HOWEVER tHis is NOt PAPERWORK OKAY ♡UNDEAD♡ tiER List.

Daywalkers and wights are F tier. Boring, overused, over studied.

Revenants, E, because tbh i really could not care less about soul based magic. its an interesting study, just not mine.

Rainbowdrinkers are D, if only because of their ease to study, but again, over saturated in study and generally homogeneous in many aspects. Amalgams also fall under D because they're more often created than natural process and generally overused in horror i'm just sick of them.

Guardians and banshees are C. the fact the ancestors of our ancestors and so on simply exist to guard is so facinating since it's been largely ignored and forgotten in modern night.

Dullahan falls to B again for the fact soul study isn't something i care for, but they do interest me quite a lot. Why a Dullahan and not simply a ghost? Why are they animated when often a missing head disposes of an ♡undead♡? Oouh♡

Lich and ghoul come in at A, both are such a curiosity in their work <3 while a natural lich is uncommon it's still possible!! i want to rip one apart and gaze in adoration of the undying wonderful organs within♡

Ghouls by nature are such brutal, horrid things that go so far between studies. they're so sO curious, torn to rip and tear but also blend in with normal Alternian society. Beyond any other type of ♡undead♡ ghouls have the most curious and obvious changes that retreat to hide them amongst our populpus♡ Your moirail could be a ghoul and you'd never know.

the untethered and my darling snowbird are s, both so unstudied and brilliantly confusing♡ the untethered gather to Mettuos from all corners of Alternia, something pulling them deeper and deeper into the snow and ice. i want to know more!! i haven't found a sentient yet, so they're far more difficult to understand and study, but my dear snowbird must know something. they're here as well, a vicious death wishing ghoul who caught my first expedition party in their claws and i was the only one left alive♡ they keep trying so, sO hard to kill me and it's such wonderful fun♤♡

so what have you learned from the ghoul's bites?

do you enjoy being bit or something? is that how you do research?

"Ha ha, very funny... You can learn a lot about undead through their bites, however. Sadly this time even with so many I had barely any uncontaminated saliva samples, so I wasn't able to run a sequence on that..."

"I did learn however that the bite of untethered are rather dissimilar to that of most other undead.... Zombies will often have a necrotic venom of sorts, rainbowdrinkers tend to either illicit euphoria or compliance, but these... I'm not sure what it is with these. I was tired, sluggish... Cold. But I know it's not the spirit they're taking."

"I'm excited to continue my studies on the local undead and that magic wielding ghoul."

"I called them Darling and the reaction was to attempt to either choke or ring my neck. Honestly worth it."

She's giggling quietly to herself and pressing fingers into the half healed bites along her neck.

i have an extra coat if you want it! but how do you keep getting encased in ice? is it caveman style?

"Apparently at the very least sentient ghouls retain their abilities to cast magic... Or maybe gain some...? They have the mage markings, though, so I assume it's something from life."

".....Probably won't take my coat off to try and lose them again. I don't think having an extra one would help at all... Unless you somehow have a duplicate of the one I'm wearing now."
