I just learned Kaboodles boxes were originally designed as tackle boxes for fishermen but repurposed via a Vanessa Williams ad campaign convinced the country they were make-up cases... 😅💜
That ad campaign might have happened before I could have remembered it..

A gif of someone opening a green vintage tackle box, as the lid moves back, it shifts the two upper coapartments to lift out, revealing the box has three levels of smaller compartments containing lures and other vintage fishing equipment. A gif of smeone holding and rotating a vintage wooden fish-shaped lure, with multiple fishhooks, in their hands before reaching to slot it back into a compartment in the tackle box.

aaaaand pictures of my tacklebox and lures! a lot of stuff in there is catfish related, since my local lake is stocked with channel cats. but of course there are plenty of bass out there, hence my other baits
ironically enough though, i've been sticking with a basic hook/weight/bobber setup and live bait, seems to be the only thing that gets bites where i am
the last pic is a variety- on my first day fishing at the local pond i was very clearly new to it, i had fished a TON as a kid but didn't learn a lot of the technical stuff (i had to ask a nearby dad for help with casting my line...). before i left some guys stopped by and handed me a bag of all these baits, showed me a lizard rig and wished me luck. people have been really kind as i've reintroduced myself to fishing, it's definitely something i needed. so big shoutout to those guys!
