Two notes about “Taco hej (me Gu$ta)” because today it’s its tenth anniversary and it’s one of my comfort songs:

1) staring at the full title, this morning, I realised that “me Gu$ta” can be read in two ways: as a normal Spanish sentence, “me gusta”, or as a Swedish expression meaning “with Gu$ta”, the character played by Axel in the video

2) if you see me reblogging the three caballeros stuff including mentions of “Taco hej” (and viceversa), the reason is my personal association between these two things, as KAJ are a trio of friends, musicians, singers just like the caballeros, Panchito is Mexican, and both “Taco hej” and any sort of media featuring the three caballeros brings me positive, friendly and happy vibes.

(Also, does “The three KAJballeros” sound good to anyone other than me?)

Three crazy days of KAJ-themed shitposting-Day 2: Axel

Welcome back to this corner of craziness! Today the shitpost is about Axel and includes a quote from an Italian song. I’ll translate it before posting the meme: “Five mobile phones in the gold(en) suit, baby I won’t call back”:

The quoted song’s title is “Tuta gold” (“Gold(en) suit”). In 2024, it became viral for its refrain (starting with the phrase in the meme) and the dance associated to it. It’s been sung by Mahmood, who you may know for being an Italian Eurovision entry twice (in 2019 solo and in 2022 with Blanco).

I’m not a fan of him but, as I said, his song “Tuta gold” has rapidly become mematic. And are we sure he owes nothing to “Taco hej”? (I’m not) (Probably he paid Gu$ta/Axel for permission to quote his iconic golden suit.)
